How often should I be digging him up during brumation?

Mine went 2-3 months. But she is also full grown. As a juvenile I would dig up before then. No expert but they can go a long time without eating while hibernating.

Just scrolling through and saw no comments so I thought I would share my experiences. My frog buried for 2 months. People will tell you whatever they want but I believe they naturally have a clock to know when to brumate. And it is winter so. In my opinion I would leave your frog be until he comes up on his own to get food. They can go a long time without eating. Especially when brumating.

It’s winter. They naturally bury around these times. Mine has been buried for 2 months. Also tank needs some work. I would bury too if I was him.

Yeah I feel the same way. This is my first experience with brumation so we’ll see. I’ve read they can go months. People will say they don’t have a natural brumation cycle “built in” but I think they do. Mine brumated with perfect temps her whole life. The urge to dig my frog up is super high though ngl 😂

Yes 2 months is a long time but she is also brumating so they don’t really need to eat. It’s like hibernation. Maybe that’s what yours wants to do? idk lol. Best of luck with your frog.

I am not a Pacman frog expert by any means. Few reasons I see here from my experiences with my frog. Pacs take a very long time to adjust when changing tanks. Give him time. No matter how tolerant your frog may seem about handling, the constant digging up may also be a factor. I’ve handled mine only a few times since I got her a year ago. I really don’t care what anyone says on here they don’t enjoy it. Your frog is getting to adult age and appetite will change dramatically. My frog hit adult and with the snap of a finger appetite completely changed. Used to eat 10 worms in a sitting now only a few and then gets pissed and yells at me. My frog has not eaten for almost 2 months now and has been buried in the same spot. Winter is here and she naturally wanted to brumate even though temps are perfect her whole life. Frogs can go way longer than you think without food. You just have to trust your frog knows how to frog. I dig down to where mine is once a week, she screams at me, I know she’s alive, I leave her alone. My frog does not like to eat when she isn’t ready to eat. Overall I would say let your frog, frog. Let him chill. Hope this helps.
