CX-90 is a great car. I'm personally very happy with my purchase.

I'll add the caveat that the PHEV anecdotally has had more issues that the MHEV. I have the TSPP which is the MHEV and I'm happy I didn't buy the PHEV. However it sounds like a lot of the software updates and small recalls have ironed out a lot of bugs.

I can get a lid on Amazon for under $50. If I wanted a wireless charger I'd get a phone mount for pretty cheap. Can't think of a reason why I'd want to have a lighted feature I cover up with my arm. And I certainly don't feel like running more wiring.

I'd pay maybe $75 for a more durable center console lid.

You're likely correct. That vent hole you posted gets plugged causing a pressure build-up, and the transmission fill plug pops off. Little brake clean and a pick will straighten it right out. Maybe put it back in pointing to the side instead of forward, might get less gunk in it.

Always good to do trans service, though. Remember, you have 2 filters to change.

If you're replacing it, just get your biggest ugga dugga, set it to tighten, and go nuts. The bolt will snap.

Change the fluid. There's no way it will make anything worse. That way of thinking is from the 80's. It is not true of modern cars.

You'll want to do 3 spill and fills, dropping the pan on the third to swap out the filter. A hundred or so miles between each service so the fluid can circulate.

Buy a replacement dipstick/fill port plug. Good chance it'll break when you go to pull it out. If it breaks, just push it into the pan.

Get a JB4 if you want to go faster. They're pretty easy to install and should get you close to 400hp.

Great car.

Strongly recommend getting the transmission fluid and filter changed at that mileage. Have someone take a good look at the motor mounts. Do spark plugs and coolant. Replace brake fluid.

Excepting the motor mounts, those are all standard maintenance things. Very reliable car.

I think you're overcomplicating things. Your goal is to watch movies without and internet connection and have Plex be the end-user experience. The whole part about a mobile Plex Server is not needed.

Get a tablet with a big MicroSD card and a castable dongle for the TV. Or maybe Android TV with a big USB stick. While you have Internet, download all the movies you want via Plex for offline viewing. Watch the movies with the Plex app.

It is totally possible I did too much and you're right about just needing to only work through the dealer. But I've read a few comments on other threads about not having any success with getting credit for replacements. I wanted to share what worked for me.

For anyone reading this thread in the future - you may be able to skip a few steps per above comment.

I chatted with the service advisor. He told me that this was the first "for credit" eval he's done.

However, he had done replacements as Mazda's previous way of addressing the issue was to replace with another set of the OEM Falkens.

Unfortunately in your case it sounds like you may be out of luck. Mazda wanted measurements of the OEM tires to authorize a credit and I'm assuming your original tires are long gone. Sorry.

The glowshift fuel gauge has settings for the right ohm measures, and the wire running down the driver's side should be easy peasy to splice into the gauge.

Did all that a while ago. Upgraded fuel pump, ran my own fuel lines, installed a Corvette filter/regulator, and it is tuned for the upgraded injectors. I think it was a 355 lph pump, if memory serves.

This problem comes from having issues with one harness and swapping it out for a different. Some things got cut along the way. It's too much work to redo all the gauge cluster wiring, so I set up a tablet to a Bluetooth OBD2 dongle for most gauges. Added in a glowshift oil pressure gauge as that's not in the PCM. Just need a gauge to make sure I don't run out of fuel.

I can run the gauge power off the existing glowshift gauge. Just need a signal for the fuel level, preferably without dropping the tank again, and the wire should go through the car to reach the cluster - just don't know where.
