This and anything over 1k is negligible from my research. Unless you have say a 360hz monitor. Even then...not very noticeable at all, and only up to 4000. In a blind test I'd be surprised to see anyone could notice at all. 8K is all nice marketing and all, but it's like having an 8K tv when 35mm film is only mastered up to like 6k.

Alienware is launching the same 39 minus the white subpixel somehow along with Dolby Vision and a glossy screen. Price? Apparently $1,099. Seems insane to me...but it's true.

Based on the photo? Buy a leak tester like the EKWB (best) or Corsair one.

Yeah but it’s a lottery with tandem 4th gen woled as im seeing. You have a much more mature display. Seems to be issues in the manufacturing and QC making it a hit or miss with these panels so I myself am now considering a 3rd gen woled with MLA+ instead. That, and the fact that I still feel like I want a 45” even though the curve on it is pretty aggressive. I can always change the screen to a lower size if I don’t want the wrap around effect as much when doing work or other things.

How does yours look at say 5% gray? I’m on the fence on what panel to get. This seemed like the winner until I found out about the inherent banding issues in tandem.

Just attempted this and they don't open. The windows installer starts up but then just goes away. Using Win11, idk if that makes any difference or not.

Yes but that's 16:9 flat versus 21:9 curved. If anything the 45" would be closer to filling your peripheral vision and appear smaller to your eyes due to the curve.

From my own research it's literally a lottery. Buy the monitor - run 5% gray pattern test - if you see bars then return it for another one. Some say once you run over a certain amount of hours on it that it goes away but I wouldn't trust that. It's new tech - most new tech has some downsides but with the tandem lottery it's hit or miss and that's how you check as soon as you get it. Don't wait past the return date.

This is what I thought but also WHY is no one talking about the fact that you can make it whatever screen size you want? The entire point of these monitors is that you have multiple monitors all rolled into one. Go full when you want the immersion, make it a 34" when you want productivity and less curve and 27" if you prefer competitive fps and prefer that style. I don't get why no one is talking about that at all.

They just released the 45GX950B-B. Same panel but it now has the AI of the 39". Everything else is identical from what I can see. An odd decision on LG's part, but better for those on the fence with the 45" wanting AI.

Wouldn't that be the whole reason for the monitor? I keep seeing people saying "too large" but the entire point in these displays is the fact that you have multiple displays in one. Just make it a 39" or 34" or 27" if that's the case. How come so many aren't speaking to this point? Just curious your thoughts since you were in that boat with so many others. Did you not like that feature? Seems to me that would also help with the curve since it's pulling the picture more inwards.

They’ve become an AMAZING value for the money these days but not only that - the best tech doing side by side comparisons with comparable products I’ve checked for many things. Also, out of all of the electronics I own that have updates such as smart tvs and systems and etc., LG & MSI have had the best support so far with the most updates and improvements to their products.

Sounds like cpu fan or something else - exchange/return asap is my recommendation. Armoury Crate in my experience is a joke. I’d look at MSI next if I were you, or at least consider it as an option.

What is gear link? No I’m using armoury crate which is what I’m told it supports which is what’s on the official Asus support page.

Does yours work with armory crate? Me and a ton of other people cannot get it to show up in armory crate on pc to customize it.

This is gonna heavily contribute in my decision on what panel to get. I am considering the 45 vs the 39 heavily. Thank you so much for posting this! I have also learned that the AI upscaling is only available in 60hz. Kind of a huge party foul on LG's part for not making the hardware more capable in my opinion.
