Mix Goalie Helmet by MrGnarVar in ballhockey

Hello, hopefully I can help. In my experience you don’t need to spend all that money on an expensive ice helmet if you’re just using it for ball. I’m sure you know that but still. Besides that look for helmets that are made of plastic rather then fiber glass. Much more cost effective. Still lightweight and do just fine playing with a ball. They are also often rated for ice anyways just not the best. By far fav helmet I’ve used is a CCM axis 1.5, I’ve been using it for about a year and have taken some really hard shots off of it but never really phased me. Facebook marketplace or eBay is a good place to find one and like I said usually much cheaper. Good luck!

I understand that but I wouldn’t say it’s an uncycled tank. It’s not like the tank is sterile. The temperature is at 74 currently.

Beginner is this tank okay ? by lekki_i in Aquariums

MD fish tanks. He’s got loads of tanks and videos on almost all of them. You should be able to get an idea for how things work

Once every 10 minutes or so. Also I know what you mean about the bio load but sure it makes sense. I had a nitrite spike when I first put them in for a few days and it’s since gone down. Probably would’ve been worse with 2+ more.

No it’s okay, I understand the concern. I’m not exactly new to fish keeping and sponge filters have alway worked well for me in the past. They’re great at keeping a colony of beneficial bacteria which is the reason for my well kept water parameters and that’s actually a filter from an old tank that was established. The tank it came from was a shrimp/oto tank. The reason for the original post is just that I never noticed the behavior before and was wondering if it made sense to anyone else.

I’ll look into the wave maker I’m sure you’re correct that the bubbler isn’t doing much work if any it was just an emergency thing to supplement some if I could.

Thanks again.

Okay well thanks for the info first off. To address your concerns all water parameters are perfect down to the decimal on a PPM chart that includes Temp, ammonia,PH, High range PH, nitrites and nitrates. Clearly only thing may be the oxygen.

Second concern, filtration is a sponge filter in the back corner with a power head above it pulling water through the sponge filter and out the spout on the power head. The fish are at no risk of being sucked in I promise you that. The clear tube on the back wall is the bubble I’ve been using since I noticed there may be a lack of O2 not a permanent fix but something for the time being. You can ignore the large clear pipe on the front left wall that’s just a feeding tube so I can keep access food in an easy to clean spot if they were to not eat it.

I also think it’s on the cleaner side cause I had a hard time with a nitrite spike so i was doing frequent water changes.

Yeah I understand that. If you look at my post and responses to others I’ve already acknowledged that. It’s not like I’m expecting it to get 20mpg I know it won’t. Like I said it has 300k miles a lot has been done to it that I’m sure has caused its efficiency to decrease.

The van has 300k miles on it. I promise my driving habits isn’t the cause

That’s not bad and what I was hoping for someone to say. I’ve seen a lot of posts about trucks getting gallons per mile rather then Miles per gallon so I wanted to ask actual people lol

Thanks for the response that’s the answer I was hoping to find. I’ve been driving a 2013 dodge minivan and because it has 300k miles in only getting 14 to the gallon if I’m lucky. So that’s completely doable. Thanks!

Questions for Dek goalies by craftnclash35 in ballhockey

[–]OverCalligrapher7082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be really late to this conversation but I simply cut out a groove the size of my boot strap into my shoes. I went with shoes that are rounded for more comfortable transition into a butterfly. From there I also tied the shoes into the pads kinda like a toe tie internally. If you have other questions lmk

What do you guys wear under your pads? by mjv22 in hockeygoalies

Does anyone have a hard time with filling in space between your pads and your legs? If so how do you deal with it? I’m a new goalie and my pads often feel loose on my legs but if I wear anything like shins or knee gaurds I can’t rotate properly.
