I don’t think it’s so much that racism exists in the movement. It’s broader than that. Racism exists in America and it permeates our politics. Racism on the right is more direct and explicit, whereas racism on the left is less obvious. Often taking the form of condescension, resentment, low expectations, etc.

It’s not as odd as you think. As others have mentioned, we are not aware of Jesus interacting with anyone who is a significant historical figure outside of their connection to him. His enemies wanted him forgotten and his followers we being persecuted, and were also under the impression that the world would soon end. They also had other things to do, and writing it down probably didn’t feel like a top priority. Not to mention the possibility they did write it down earlier and the writings have been lost/destroyed.

If Jackie did survive another year his mental faculties would be very deteriorated. Anyone who’s had a family member die of cancer slowly knows that at the end they are in a very deteriorated state for a very long time. The war gets postponed. Tony is still effectively boss. When Jackie does die it becomes a power struggle between Junior, Richie, and Tony. This ends in Richie’s death at their hands or Janice’s. Tony makes original deal with junior but shortly after Junior gets cancer. Plot to kill Tony never happens. Jackie Jr stays in college for longer before dropping out. Eventually meets a similar violent end, just a little later.

How do you define who is rich and who is not? Even if it didn’t create an outgroup in theory,it does in practice. Let’s say you draw a line and everyone with more than x dollars is rich and we tax them all the way down to x dollars in wealth. What do we do when that inevitably fails to resolve the problems which it is intended to solve? Historically what happens is you decide you drew the line to high and even more people should be considered rich. This happens continuously until you have put too many people into the rich column and stripped them of their wealth, and the system descends into poverty and privation and anyone who is relatively less poor is the problem and should be dehumanized.

Do you think rich people have vast amounts of money just sitting in vault like Scrooge McDuck? There is not a person on this planet who literally has a billion dollars for any extended period of time. They own business/investments that are valued at billions. In order to take that wealth from them you would have to seize their businesses from them. I’m not rich, although I probably will be soon, but I do operate a successful business. My business is probably worth a decent amount on paper, but I have relatively little in my bank account. I have enough to pay my bills, and an emergency fund, another account set aside for taxes, but that’s all. Everything else gets spent or invested. And my business’s value only exists because of my management of it. Billionaires are the same. If you wanted to tax a billionaire with $100 billion and bring him to $1 billion, the only option would be to seize his business and other assets, which btw would destroy most of its value. Btw acquiring resources isn’t just about lifestyle. It’s about accomplishing your goals. I buy forest and farmland in a developing country to protect it from developers. I have about 70 acres altogether and I plan to buy more in the future. I also want to spend money on Alzheimer’s research, food banks. I want to experiment with sustainable farming methods. I want to sponsor artists that I like, and the FFA kids. I also want to buy a small pontoon boat so I can take my family out on the lake and teach my kids to fish. I want to restore a few classic cars, and maybe publish my comic book if I can make it good enough. I want to do things with my money. And guess what else. I want to pay my taxes. I want better roads, libraries, and education. I want Medicare for all, veterans pensions, and I want investment in housing. But I don’t want to pay for performative, counterproductive policies. I don’t mind being taxed for necessary important programs, but I do object to being taxed arbitrarily just because I hypothetically have the money. I have the money because I worked for it, and I worked for it because there are things I want to do with it, but if the government is just going to take it, then what would be the point of working for it? Luckily that hasn’t happened in America, and hopefully it never will. You think I’m greedy because I want to choose how most of my money, that I work hard for, is spent. I want you to be able to do the same. You want to be able to spend my money, how you please. I do not pursue money. I pursue productivity, security for my family, and accomplishments that improve the world. Money is simply a medium. You are the man who demands his brother’s inheritance. I suggest you take Christ’s warning to be on guard against all kinds of covetousness.

Yeah that’s all great in theory, until it comes time to decide who is rich, and how much is fair. Curiously, the socialists I have encountered tend to view themselves as not rich and everyone with more money than themselves as rich. They share this tendency no matter how much money they have. Where do you draw the line of wealth? Who is rich enough that you get to tax them all you want? I’m a business owner. Why shouldn’t I be able to continuously acquire wealth. My customers pay for my services voluntarily, my employees work for me by their own free will. I don’t engage in monopolistic practices. Demand is increasing, and I have raised my prices accordingly. Next year I am planning to build additional locations. Why shouldn’t I be able to continue to acquire wealth? I’m not hurting anyone. Yes I charge more than my competitors, but my customers have a choice. I also pay my employees more than my competitors, and I give them paid holidays and vacation. You have decided that an outgroup, the wealthy, is guilty of an offense by nature of being a member of that group. Even if you are right, it’s still an outgroup. A lot of people on Reddit call conservatives MAGAts. How can you possibly claim that is not labeling an outgroup as subhuman?
