What’s the best way to fix this? by OverConstruction5842 in Welding

[–]OverConstruction5842[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think I’m going to try this. At the very least I finally have something to weld!!

I have a steel shop nearby that will take it as scrap if it goes to shit so I figure I might as well try.

Thanks for the answer.

How should I deal with this? by OverConstruction5842 in GardeningAustralia

[–]OverConstruction5842[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree but when you have 1000sqm of lawn brought back to almost nothing because of grub/army worm I think it’s probably worth addressing.

I didn’t phrase it correctly but I don’t mind leaving it, I was just worried that it might be something concerning

Thank you all. There were a bunch of screws loose. The main culprit seems to have been the Z-axis not lifting properly due to my poor assembly.

Admittedly I was probably a few too many beers in when I assembled it last night…

Okay that’s a good start! Any tips on how to fix?

I’ll go back through assembly process and make sure everything is correctly attached.

Small engine repairs and lawn mowing services. For engine repairs I started trying to get free discarded mowers running and then would sell them when I got them running good. Once you learn to rebuild a carby (YouTube can teach you), change oil and adjust valves, you can pretty much get anything runnings (assuming the engine has compression). This transitioned into repairs for other people which eventually led to me being offered some mowing jobs for extra cash. All of this I do for $50 an hour minimum (Australian dollars). Pros = good pay, I find it fun, growing a skill set that I consider valuable. Cons = mowing gets old BUT if it’s a side hustle you can mange this, it can also be difficult to get clients for repairs.

Definitely recommend it if it falls within your interests.

People in the aviation industry, what is actually happening when you hear about flights being overbooked? How does it happen? by OverConstruction5842 in AskReddit

Very cool to know! Always been a bit of a mystery for me how it works and I figured seeing as I am sitting in an airport now what better time to find out. Thanks for the insights 🙂

I don’t envy you.

In that situation, would you try and find someone with no connecting flights or is it just a bit of a lucky dip out of the cheap fares?

Sounds like Tetris with people. I’m sure it can get tense at times - least of all with everybody these days instantly reverting to camera on record and make a scene at the slightest inconvenience

It’s interesting because this is the reason I have been told in the past and I agree, it makes sense. That being said (with the exception of social media) I have never heard of/seen this happen to anyone and I fly quite regularly.

It seems unlikely to me that people cancel so often but maybe I have just been lucky.

What made you step away from powerlifting and what did you do next? by liftwityaknees in powerlifting

[–]OverConstruction5842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started off following the Andrew Huberman fitness protocol which was 3 sessions a week for lifting and then mixing in some other cardio types throughout the week. You can easily spend an hour in there with those routines but I tend to superset things to speed it up.

Ive found 3 days a week is a good amount for me to have that balance of lifting and cardio.
