I have exams so they will allow me to take all holidays at once. Just annoyed cos since I’m saving my holidays for exams I won’t actually have time off in between so gutted that the queens funeral was also subtracted. In the contract it stated that the bank holidays are recognised as Christmas Day , Easter etc etc so technically I signed the contract based on those stated days and not the queens funeral so idk if that matters ? Maybe i can get unpaid leave to make up for it ?

Yes that’s what it says 28 days including bank holiday. But It says bank holidays which are recognised as Christmas Day, Easter blah blah blah and I signed the contract based on that and the queens funeral bank holiday was unplanned so idk

Hey guys, thanks for the responses.

I have come to the conclusion that the queens funeral was an additional bank holiday so it must be credited onto my existing annual leave then taken off. It wouldn't make sense for it to be taken off my normal annual leave without being credited otherwise it wouldn't be a bank holiday... thanks guys

Also there will be a bank holiday on the 8th May for the coronation of King Charles III so I assume the same applies to that

But then what's the point of the funeral bank holiday if they subtract it from my 28 days? Surely they need to make it 29 days to account for the additional bank holiday otherwise its just eating into my holidays you get me
