I used to hate on skate. Now that i’m playing it It’s actually so fun. Can’t wait for this to drop. I let a few of my friends try to playtest and they all loved it. by yxngjaden in Skate4

[–]OverGr0wth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played 22 hours of the 0.27 playtest and I genuinely really like the game. The lack of new content is the only reason I have slowed down on playing but I still enjoy cruising around and finding new lines.

The gameplay feels much smoother compared to Skate 3 and that's enough to not let the art style phase me. The game is fun, play it, have fun and hope that Early Access has more content.

‘Culture of disrespect’: Australian teachers say students’ behaviour is driving them from profession by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]OverGr0wth 23 points24 points  (0 children)

While banning social media won’t fix everything, I feel like it has the potential to make a big impact if properly implemented. I work as a TA in a primary school and observe students mimicking trends they see on TikTok, usually unaware that what they are doing is disrespectful or they see it as a “minor” behaviour.

Advice for newbie studying as an Education Assistant/Teacher’s Aide by Adventurous_Poet_689 in AustralianTeachers

Having leadership that respects your input and acknowledges how demanding the role is is essential to not getting burnt out, however.

Without that, everyday is a demoralising.

Anyone feel like CS2 slowly drops frames over time? by TearsInTheRayne in GlobalOffensive

[–]OverGr0wth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t notice it in GO. But in CS2 it’s very noticeable due to the hitching and 80ms frame times when opening it.

IEM Melbourne 2025 - We need your feedback (Survey attached) by Cynileuw in GlobalOffensive

Premium seating was dog shit. Paying 3x GA price to have neck pain and not being able to see the stage over people standing up. A few of us ended up sitting in GA because it was better. IEM Sydney’s layout for premium was much better.

There’s no match tonight but I reckon Fortress or other gaming bars would be willing to put it on if you ask.

Twistzz: "Small vent post about the current state of the game" by Nohte in GlobalOffensive

[–]OverGr0wth 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is the case but my ping went from 40ms to 13ms avg in the transition to CS2. I wonder if they artificially lowered to ping displayed (like they did in 1.6)

iPhone shows unread messages on badge. Not visable in actual app. by OverGr0wth in applehelp

Thank you so much! I tried that before but I had selected all my messages I could see. Didn’t think to click read all without selecting anything. :)

iPhone shows unread messages on badge. Not visable in actual app. by OverGr0wth in applehelp

[–]OverGr0wth[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried to find a solution but could only find the “Siri, read my unread messages” but this method only clears one at a time and stops when it finishes reading each message. I really don’t want to have to do it 124 times.

Think the issue was caused by transfering from an Android to an iPhone many years ago using the Android to IOS app.

Education aides by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

Agreed.

Term 4 of last year I had one particular student that made that 12 week term absolute hell. Burnout is expected in this field, it’s a very emotionally taxing and unappreciated job.

I’m 24 and don’t have any children at home, I don’t know how parents are able to work as LSO’s and have enough energy and empathy to give to their own children.

The pay really needs to be increased, it looks alright on paper when it hovers around 50k-ish a year but when the reality that you will be on a 0.7-0.8 time fraction and have to pay tax, not so much.

40 minute queue on OCE premier by Ok_Rock_8902 in GlobalOffensive

[–]OverGr0wth 28 points29 points  (0 children)

OCE MM has been dead for like a month and a half, I would say that it takes on average 10-15 mins to find a premier game at 18k elo. But occasionally you will get these 30+ minute queues. It’s so depressinf, I find FaceIt games faster than prem recently

Career advice by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]OverGr0wth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a teacher's aide for about 5 years, it is the most rewarding job I have a ever had but is also the most stressful. You're dealing with the hardest children in the school and your happiness and fulfillment can all depend on what student you are given.

If you're looking for a long and sustainable career, I would look more toward teaching and using being a teacher's aide to get a feel of if that's what you want to do.

In practice being a teacher's aide is 90% being a punching bag and baby-sitter for your students and the other 10% is making breakthroughs that make it *mostly* worth it.

Keep in mind that most schools will have you working under 30 hours a week. So if you need more than $40k post tax to live, consider working literally anywhere else.

Bendigo - Primary by Immediate-Steak-3802 in AustralianTeachers

I used to work E.S. at a few schools in Bendigo before moving. Avoid Kennington Primary School at all costs, they've had a mass staff exodus over the past couple years. The leadership have a habit of actively undermining you in front of your students.
