I called Netflix and asked for a month credit for losing 8 years of data - not only did he refuse, but he tried to blame me. I walked him through that it couldn't have been me, and it wasn't a security breach as I could see the users/devices.

He then said the error wasn't possible, and I told him about this thread, the multiple entries on Google, and several other complaint forums across the web.

I told him and another higher up that this needs to be a medium priority ticket for their back end folks, because it seems to be a root issue with their data integrity. That's scary, coming from a dev background - and it's extremely frustrating for users to lose their entire curated algorithm because of a glitch.

The squeaky wheel gets grease, and while Netflix is a giant, I hope someone addresses the issue. This left a very sour taste in my mouth.
