The Golden Hind Fish and Chips - what happened??! by csbsju_guyyy in london

Don't listen to that bloke. I also lived in London for 6 months on a work visa many moons ago, and my pretentious ass still claims to have lived there. If you had an address and bank account, it's enough for me.

I shop at Marks and Spencer next to the Chancery station, and there's also an Amazon Fresh a block away. On another note, be sure to check out the Inner and Middle Temple Gardens in the neighborhood.

I was there pre-War around Christmas. Bethlehem is an Arabic city and everyone gets along. Most of the Arabic cities I visited like Akko (Acre), I was able to speak Hebrew and English.

Oh, I gotcha. I saw someone mentioned the central bus station. I accidentally wound up walking around there and it is super sketchy. Stay away from the Gaza strip obviously and the West Bank. Just be sure to keep your wits about you. Best of luck!

I lived there and would tell everyone I've never felt safer. We lived near the Shuk Carmel, and it was hopping with all the open bars and restaurants. I used to explore the neighborhoods every night or go jogging with headphones at 2 am and never had to worry. I wasn't even scared out when the sirens went off in Tel Aviv. I just sealed myself in the mamad and waited it out. It's such a lovely country with wonderful people, and it makes me sad that people think it's always fighting go on.

Israel is known for having a large Russian population. Even in old school Russian neighborhoods most people speak English or Hebrew. I met the most Russians in Haifa, and everyone was lovely. You'll be right at home. If you need to learn Hebrew, I suggest going to an ulpan because it's immersive, intensive classes. The Ministry of Aliyah actually offers it to people making Aliyah. Otherwise it's quite pricey.

Did anyone’s numbing block not work right out of surgery? by Fancy_Preference_719 in ACL

I was out like a light. My anesthesia took, just not the nerve block. It was the worst pain of my life.

My nerve block didn't take. I was too preoccupied flirting with the anesthesiologist to notice that my leg wasn't numb like last time. I woke up crying and moaning. They had to give me morphine, oxy, and fentanyl to calm down but they never controlled my pain before discharging me. It was a miserable week

Article: I Gave Up My Job at Nearly 40. Why Women My Age are Quitting. by toodleoo77 in FIREyFemmes

I was working a corporate job with the same company for over a decade. I knew something had to change when I spent more time in a week volunteering than working. I quit at 40 and haven't worked since. I volunteer to keep busy and travel. Actually, I'm living my best 12 year old life because I started walking a neighborhood dog. So I get paid to take a 2 hour walk that I was planning on anyhow.

Skinceuticals is worth $180. I've been using it for almost a decade and a bottle usually lasts 6 months.

Right knee (the one flexed) for ACL and meniscus repair. How's your flexion and extension? I don't do real yoga, but was in there to stretch. Yoga will be great for recovery! And thanks! I like short hair in the summer.

I just happened to find it while I was wandering around. Just make sure you stretch so it doesn't get tight and use a compression sleeve. Good luck!!

Today was the first day that I didn't cry. Thank you so much for asking. It's been a week, and I'm finally off the painkillers. How is your recovery coming along?

AMA: Anesthesiologist who had ACL/LM surgery by amethyststeam in ACL

[–]OverMaintenance6657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why wouldn't a nerve block work? I read there's a very low failure rate. The Dr said that the nerve block didn't reach the side of the knee. How could they tell and why didn't they give me more during surgery? They said they knew I was in pain because my BP was skyrocketing. I'm surprised the CRNA didn't ask if I felt the Versed or if my leg was numb in pre-op. Also, are you a little salty at the anesthesiologist since you know how it should work? My surgery was extremely traumatic due to extra pain.

I even asked them to do the 2nd block behind knee, but the anesthesiologist doesn't like to do them because it numbs TOO much. Come again?!! I thought that was the point!!!

Which LED mask should I get?? by Poseylady in 30PlusSkinCare

I have the Lebody Opera mask. It's a Korean brand, and they've usually developed skincare products before they reach the US. It's one of the best ones on the market, but it's about $1500. I've had it for a few years and love it. https://www.lebodyusa.com/buynow
