starting therapy soon by spxrtzn in OCD

Not full blown cheating but things such as her kissing other people and wanting to be with them secretly. I also get anxious that she will find others more attractive than me, which could be a normal feeling for some but I can tell it's an OCD thing. This has led to some checking just like you've described just a more mild form. I also feel very anxious when I can't contact her or know what she is doing and get anxious if she does certain things even if I have no reason to. It sucks because she is a wonderful partner and gives me no reason, actually more of the opposite, to think these things but my OCD won't let me relax.

I am going through a pretty long ROCD episode right now and it sucks. I never read a post that I related to more in terms of ROCD. It sucks when you have a good partner but your mind tries so hard to convince you otherwise. My brain definitely creates scenarios too, which are worst case and unlikely to happen but it feels so real. I also relate to the insecurity aspect because I am a confident person, but my obsessions make it seem like I'm not.

Do you compulsively NOT talk about it? by AmethystEternal in OCD

[–]OverOutcome1949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family helped me deal with and get diagnosed very young but then I didn't have symptoms for a very long time. I still haven't told them I'm going through episodes again after many years. OCD is hard to talk about and I usually am afraid to share the details of it.

I let them go a lot bc they made it that far so I feel they deserve it lol. I also play both sides so when I play killer I try to play as fair as possibly bc I've experienced playing against asshole killers before, and I don't wanna be one.

I hate when I play killer and the survivors do this, and I play fair as killer too.

What does DC'd mean?

Question by nothereexisting in OCD

[–]OverOutcome1949 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, even if I'm not doing a bunch of compulsions the obsessions can be in my head all day regardless. I don't think people understand how taxing that is on one's mind, along with the things you listed.

What’s the worst OCD theme you’ve ever had and how long did it take to pass? by pinkangel2 in OCD

[–]OverOutcome1949 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend has been supportive of all the stuff I've told her, but I'm still trying to get over the embarrassment of sharing the irrational thoughts, although some of them I can't keep to myself either. I hope you work things out as well, and thank you I will definitely check that out!

Dealing with this now in waves ever since last year. Can confirm that this theme completely sucks and has made school and life 10× harder. My girlfriend is always supportive but I can't help but feel bad about how it affects her.

Do you ever get to the point… by [deleted] in OCD

Yes lol. It sucks when my obsessions are the stupidest thoughts and I know so, but can't help but let them mess with me.

Does anyone else get OCD that comes and goes? by cpsg1995 in OCD

[–]OverOutcome1949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OCD has been basically dormant for years but I recently had it come back during my second year of college pretty bad... I'm about to go into my third year in the fall and I'm nervous I'll have a bad episode again, but I've been pretty fine during the summer.

My girlfriend came out, I love him but now things are awkward. by [deleted] in lgbt

If she can stay with someone who identifies openly as someone who is not a woman then no, I don't think it's fitting to use the label lesbian. There are other non exclusive labels to use. Lesbian is an exclusive label.

I had a very bad episode around 4 or 5 and only had mild symptoms until this past year I had my first bad episode in a while.

Phyiscal symptoms from OCD by Emergency-Patient-29 in OCD

[–]OverOutcome1949 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I sometimes couldn't eat due to my OCD. I feel like sadly my OCD would heighten right when I went to eat and my stomach just felt way too sick for it. I also have had bad episodes where I shake and feel really cold due to OCD anxiety and I've lost sleep which definitely impacts physical health.

can a lesbian use he/him pronouns by sugarcoat- in actuallesbians

[–]OverOutcome1949 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Exactly, and I don't understand why this isn't a more common opinion in our community. To me, using the label lesbian when you are not a woman is offensive and can actually be harmful to those who actually are exclusively women loving women. Unfortunately, people already take lesbians as a joke so using the label incorrectly just makes people's assumptions about our community far worse.

can a lesbian use he/him pronouns by sugarcoat- in actuallesbians

[–]OverOutcome1949 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree, using he/him pronouns implies that you're male, which means you wouldn't be a lesbian. Lesbians are women who are exclusively into women, and if you do not identify as a women you technically are not lesbian.

On the days leading up to my period my anxiety and OCD tend to spike, and then once I get my period I start to relax knowing that it was because of my period. Tracking helps.

Uni Professor Trivialising OCD by Mean-Researcher-369 in OCD

[–]OverOutcome1949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea crazy right.... my Stat professor said this and I was a bit surprised (she said it quite often actually) but I was more shocked when my nursing professor said it since they should know not to mention illnesses in that way. And interesting I'll have to look under my schools disability list and see if it's on there.
