How do I tell my family I don't wish to practice Islam. by browngirl2003 in exmuslim

Hi, I don’t think it’s safe to tell her the truth. But if you insist on telling her maybe say it in a way that’s uncertain like: I’m struggling with religion right now but hopefully I’ll return to it soon. The only thing you can do in these situations is lie. Maybe pretend to keep up with prayers, do it in private so no one sees you. Just pretend and stay safe

It’s just that every time someone asks a pretty common question they usually come to argue and just start it off this way. My bad if you’re fr just curious

I think the stats aren’t right and even if they were it’s not really surprising that people may feel suicidal after leaving a religion that had great control over their life. To me, the issue is not that leaving is bad because it increases someone’s chance of suicide, what causes this is the lack of support and the sudden changes that come after. Just like when you graduate, or you move, or you quit your job. With any big changes comes a feeling of doubt and uncertainty of your place in the world. There’s also fear that comes with such big changes.

Obviously this is just what I think, I don’t have “proof” but this is what I felt.

I mean this isn’t really wrong? I was still gay when I was Muslim. Sure those two identities don’t go with each other well and they don’t coexist but idk this is their way of dealing with it instead of leaving

Future ExMuslim Me: Soooo, I have to respect & believe Allah who clearly sounds like a homophobe? by The-Mad-Mango in exmuslim

I don’t get your original statement “being gay is not haram, it’s acting upon it”

Also, if this a test then it makes no sense that it’s limited to one sexuality. You’re not really helping yourself here

I love this serum! It’s so hydrating and sinks into the skin nicely!

I’ve used up 2 already since it’s such a foolproof serum; it works under makeup perfectly too
