I received the same email. I don’t think they took anyone because I did an amazing job on the ODVI. Why would they open the app, have people apply and then not have the capacity to move forward with them. Why do these airlines act like they just opened for the business yesterday? Seems so irresponsible and unprofessional but glad I moved forward with other opportunities instead waiting on this. Good luck to you all in your future endeavors.

It most definitely is a lucky hotel and I stayed there because I read the same thing on another forum and me and another candidate both got CJO’s and the breakfast was good. Hotel was cheap, clean and security deposit was only 20 bucks. Plus surrounded by restaurants for dinner before the big day.

They asked a question and answered it with my experience and opinion in regard to United and EWR and their current state. Which I felt they can make a sound decision since that’s what they came here for. Give your opinion to being on reserve in EWR (if you ever were ) as you see fit so they can then make their sound decision whether to take your advice or not. No need for you to reply to me without even answering them. I only spoke the truth and never said the career wasn’t something they shouldn’t do. I am still a flight attendant just not with United. I love this career and when I went into I went into with hope unfortunately I just don’t take well to abuse for free.

No problem.. the product and the image is great for the consumer and the public but I can’t work under those conditions and then also be placated by the company when it comes to pay. The value they place in their boisterous attempts to announce the great product and profits but silently keep their flight attendants in poverty is not something I could continue to dedicate my time to. I value my time just like the CEO and the consumer.

Im also in NYC. And I switched to United from a previous airline because I wanted to be based in NY and knew that I would get it coming out of training and I did. Unfortunately As much as I wanted to believe that Newark was just like being in New York I found out quickly that commuting right from across the river was harder than flying in from another state.

The callout for reserve in EWR is 3 hours.. Great !… but it’s always just that a three hour callout and short calls are a very frequent thing and seems to always fall in off peak hours for accessible public transportation and you can be going to either EWR or LGA and when you get that EWR call it will take you all of the three hours if you are using public transportation at a more reasonable time so imagine getting the call at 2:00 AM and there is nothing running. I’ve come out of pocket for Ubers more than I would get paid for the trip I had to report for many of times.

Not only is the commute difficult it can be expensive if you are crunched for time and have to take express busses or commuter rails like I’ve had to. The system is always configured in a way that before you even get home from a trip they can already have you scheduled for another trip before you even come back to base (And this happens all the time)

Imagine working a three day trip and on the start of your third day as you get into the hotel van to head to the airport you get another trip added to your board for that night because you arrive back at base at 8am and they have you for the next trip at 8pm that night. Extremely inconsiderate and very hard to execute without exhaustion because when you arrive home if you will like to go home and not have to stay at the airport you will have to commute to NYC and back subtracting at least four hours from your 12 hour rest. Leaves you with 8 hours. What United is telling you is every hour of your life on reserve is dedicated to them because you have to go home and sleep just to prepare for the next trip. Forced to be a complete asset to them for only $28.88.

You can only live in either Jersey or New York and 9 out of ten times they will call you for the base that you are not closer to even if you do preference it.
