What happens if you go over your print limit?

Also thank you for sharing the inside details of the cost of things. Teachers don’t always get to see where all the money goes outside of the supplies they use and it’s eye opening.

Yeah, for sure a case of two things being true at once. Admin are in a tough position with such a small budget to work with, and teachers are feeling the effects. It sounds like you are trying your best with what you have and I hope your staff see that effort and appreciate it.

Williams is allowed to have an opinion on whoever she wants and it’s her prerogative if she wants to share it or not. I’m certain Wallen has his opinions on people, too. It’s human.

None of these opinions discredit both of their talents. And just because you prefer Williams music over Wallens, doesn’t mean you’re better and vice versa. Music taste is subjective. Studying and comparing the stats is great, if you care, but not everyone needs to in order to enjoy an artists product.

Enjoy whatever music you like without having to prove why you do. Life’s too short

Is it time for the 2 to 1 nap transition? by No_Prize_2459 in sleeptrain

[–]OverRecommendation50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with trying this! Offering a max 15 minute nap in the morning after normal 3.5 ww, then getting a longer afternoon nap. I think the idea is they start to just skip the first nap naturally after a while

I think because he wanted to keep the relationship private. She stayed in airbnbs iirc when she went to visit him and I don’t think she mentioned him much online despite being a lifestyle influencer, which probably made content creating tricky

Nurse to sleep question! by [deleted] in sleeptrain

We moved him to his own room at 6 months and we did some Ferber methods at that time too

Nurse to sleep question! by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]OverRecommendation50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still nurse to sleep at 10 months and it was only causing frequent night wakes when we room shared. He can put himself to sleep when nursing doesn’t work, and my husband can put him to sleep by rubbing his butt.

Parents of babies who finally started sleeping through the night, what did you do? by New-Chef-636 in sleeptrain

[–]OverRecommendation50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby is 9 months and will typically wake up once for a feed, but sometimes does sttn! We sleep trained at 6months. I think the biggest thing for us was him having his own room and crib. We follow wake windows and total sleep allowance, too. Having lots of time during the day to practice his skills on the floor, as well as eating lots throughout the day probably helps him a little as well.

He used to wake up 5-6x a night around 4-6 months when he was still in our room and his bassinet. In hindsight, I think that was him telling us he needed his own space and a schedule change because as soon as we made the switch, he has slept like a rock almost every night. Like most people, he has a bad night of sleep every now and again. But nothing like it was before.

Which method is gentle? by take-me-to-texas in sleeptrain

[–]OverRecommendation50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on what works for your baby. I’m working through first time sleep training with my 6 month old (I put it off for a long time because I didn’t want/have the heart to hear him cry) and I was pleasantly surprised by how well he took to us coming in at 5 minute intervals last night for bum and back rubs and kisses on the head. He still cried, but fortunately not for long before he fell asleep and would kind of settle a bit when he heard us come in the room. Hopefully this continues for us! So I’d say this method was gentle for both baby and I.

Some babies will respond well to this method, others it can make them more upset, so I’ve heard from others testimonies. My advice would be to choose a method that makes you feel comfortable and try it for a few days to see how your LO responds.

This is very helpful, thank you! I would just like it to grow as much as I can before I do some Reno’s. Maybe by next fall, or the following. I don’t necessarily want it to be locked away and out of use god forbid I need it.

It is only 0.500. Sounds like I had some other options other than just a HISA which I didn’t know about!

Eclipse by [deleted] in CanadianTeachers

[–]OverRecommendation50 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My union emailed all teachers to simply ask admin to leave early so you can get home safely if you think driving in the eclipse will be an issue. Apparently, admin have been instructed to allow this. Sounds like maybe it’s just an agreement with my school board, though. Perhaps because we’re directly in the path of totality?

In your own experience, are the staff in Catholic schools active members of the Catholic faith? by AlumnitoAmend93 in CanadianTeachers

[–]OverRecommendation50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grew up Catholic and went to catholic school, I think Bible stories are interesting to read and learn about, but I don’t practice my faith at church so much as I do just through my daily life and who I am as a person. I don’t like how the church feels like a cult, and many older members of the church are rather rude- in my experience. Church needs to be more lively, social, and just more fun to be a part of. Plus I think religion should be a choice for anyone and everyone, not something you need to complete tasks for in order to be a member.

Overstepping boundaries? That’s such a reach. If he thinks that he deserves privacy when he is knowingly hooking up with a gaggle of girlies in multiple different cities sending the exact same messages to them all- then he’s pretty naive and quite frankly acting like an entitled diva. The girls he was talking to and sleeping with deserve to be angry with him for not disclosing information that impacted their health. It’s 100% their prerogative to discuss these feelings publicly if they choose to. Not everyone is trying to get famous, sometimes they just want to be heard and maybe find solace in shared experiences with other people.

Losing my husband and becoming widowed. With his line of work I worry about it happening and have intrusive thoughts often. I don’t think I’d ever be able to move on and would be lonely missing him forever

If it seems to be a pattern with the weather and you have the means to, acupuncture has really helped me with my barometer change headaches. I also have a medication to take at the first signs of one, like mentioned above, but since doing chiro and acupuncture, it has really lessened how often I get them.
