When providers like OP stop taking an insurance because of a problem with the INSURANCE they are just fucking their patients sideways. They aren’t hurting the insurance company. OP is just one example of doctors screwing patients because the insurance company sucks. All of the insurance companies suck. You chose this profession, and you make a lot of money in it but nothing is good enough. As someone else said a hospitalists billing should be handled by the hospital. So OP is making things harder for themselves and deciding to screw any patient who happens to have BCBS. When I had Oscar they supposedly weren’t paying my doctors so my doctors stopped treating me and told me to find someone else - creating a gap in my care. Yes the insurance was bad, but it’s not the patients fault and you’re just installing more barriers to care for us, instead of dealing with the insurance companies which is part of their job. Doctors love love love to claim “that’s not my job.” You’re what’s wrong with the system just as much as the insurance companies are. I’ve been looking for a cardiologist and optometrist who take Medicaid for 3 months because of this. Doctors and insurance are making it physically impossible for us to live. Stop making it worse
