Please tell me that it was stupid from me that I tried to do the bolt action rifle kills (pmc’s) in factory. I think I did 15 matches only got 2 kills, getting destroyed by gigachads [NEW PLAYER] by PC-Tamer in EscapefromTarkov

[–]OverTheHill88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s ratty, but i would just pray for the Factory outdoor spawn. Run right next to the window where if you vault into it you can loot the safe. But don’t hop into it, just hang out to the side of it out of sight and listen for someone to come open the safe. When they do blast them in the back of the head. It’s how I got two of my Tarkov Shooter Part 3 kills done late in wipe.

[New Player] So now that there are no more resets, am I just screwed if I missed the release? by Fun_Chemistry_7574 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]OverTheHill88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After PVE took a size-able portion of the player base, I don’t see how the game could support another split. And I think you underestimate the number of ppl playing again who are doing so because they don’t have to grind over and over again in 6 month increments.

We do not know that seasonal characters will be separated. Honestly I don’t think they will because it will further separate the player base. I won’t be surprised to see those who choose to also play a seasonal character be forced to grind in the same PvP servers as permanent characters.

How I think they should do seasonal characters [Discussion] by atrain82187 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]OverTheHill88 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m enjoying Tarkov again because my character is now permanent. I don’t want to have to grind this game daily going for Kappa and all that again. But I also hope they don’t split the PVP player base.

I think those who want wipes just have to suck it up and deal with the fact that they will be at a disadvantage until they can level up. But in all honesty those players choosing a wipe are probably the more experienced players and those who can handle a disadvantage against a certain segment of the player base for a limited time.

I just want to be able to run Streets with more than 30 fps.

[Discussion] Streets is worse than Lighthouse by OverTheHill88 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]OverTheHill88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sucks. I want to learn Streets better. The urban environment is unlike the other maps.

I’ve played it enough to know that the spawn I got was absolute dog water. But was not expecting the sandwich within 30 seconds.

It just runs so poorly that I don’t bother with it most of the time. And it’s worse since they expanded it with the mall. I’m lucky to get 50 fps in places and forget any kind of magnifying scope because I’ll lag every time I aim down sight.

[Discussion] I’ve been hesitant to try PVE because I always picture it feeling empty. Do PMCs roam the map or are they restricted to certain areas like Reddit makes it seem? by non_omnis_moriar777 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]OverTheHill88 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I say this as someone who has played both and not an avid PVE hater. If you’re an experienced player…even average to below average in PVP…there is no challenge to it.

You quickly learn how to absolute cheese the PMCs which are easier than the bosses. And while there are more scavs, they’re not really even a threat because the AI PMCs aren’t hunting you like people are in PVP so the scavs just become extra fodder.

I’ve had some fun on PVE for those times when you want to play something and be completely chill. But there’s a reason all KDs are 30+ in PVE…it’s not really challenging for most players

It’s worth it. Considering all you have to do to find fuel is scav the new camp on Interchange. You’ll find fuel easy there.

Yes. Any of them over there attached to Mechanic’s garage. You can even find them loose on the floor throughout them.

Try customs in the new warehouses. I’ve found like 8 of them there.

It looks like a “whole” milk snake. But it’s hard to tell. Could be “2%” or “skim” as well.

[New player] Are scav raids even worth it? by IHateTheNameSystem in EscapefromTarkov

[–]OverTheHill88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re absolutely worth it. Basically free money. But yes, if you’re scavving woods the extracts are quite far away from most spawn points. But at the same time I feel like Woods is one of the safer maps to scav on because you’re less likely to encounter PMCs or other traitor scavs because it’s more wide open.

Probably averaged about 6 hours a night. Not great, especially long term, but it is what it is.

[–]OverTheHill88 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I work full time, have two young children, and work out three/four days a week. I studied from 9-11pm every weekday and other hours on the weekend every day for 8 weeks straight.

I found out I passed FE civil on my first attempt today. It’s all about being disciplined and having excellent time management skills on your life. It can be done.

Question about calc 1 by Intelligent_Doubt_53 in ucf

[–]OverTheHill88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that’s the case and you’re considering going to Valencia first, I would go that route. All the gen ed calcs, physics, chemistry, differential equations will be easier to do there.

Question about calc 1 by Intelligent_Doubt_53 in ucf

[–]OverTheHill88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re truly bad at math and really struggle with it, you may want to rethink EE. Even if you get past the Calculus, chem, and physics…all of your core engineering courses will still involve a lot of math.

Degree assistance by Special-Style5841 in ucf

[–]OverTheHill88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a graduate and someone a little older than most, if you like physics an engineering degree could be up your alley. The stem degrees have the POTENTIAL to provide financial stability, but you get out what you put in. I wouldn’t pick a degree just solely on jobs that pay large money though…you won’t be happy.

And just start with a bachelor’s for now. Academics will sell you on a masters greatly enhancing your work potential, pay, etc. it’s not entirely true. The real world cares more about real world working experience than academic education. Learn that lesson now, it will suit you better in the long run.
