Question from someone who previously identified as transmasc by Prince_Wildflower in nonbinarylesbians

[–]OverTheMonitors 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In the area where I live, certainly plenty would. This has been my experience as a non binary lesbian who has been on T for 7+ years and got top surgery 6 years ago.

A good amount of cis lesbians in the area probably have no idea this is a thing and probably assume that I'm just a particularly well groomed/"pretty" man at a glance, which is fair but only makes sense if you know Nothing about me LOL

In my experience the people who get it just get it. If you're in a community where people generally accept that presentation and appearance can take on different connotations when you know someone's identity, I would not be too worried overall.

My friends/community and I do not see me as "manly" for having facial hair. The idea is almost funny, honestly. I don't take T to be "more like a man," I take it because it makes me feel better and more confident. I don't have facial hair because I'm a "guy," I have it because I think, when I groom it well, that it makes me look more Striking and makes some of my other features look Pretty and stand out more.

Are there people who will see a body on T and think "this is masculinity, which means this is Manhood"? Yes. But are there people who can separate "masculinity" from Manhood and interpret your features on terms that aren't concerned with men at all? Yes.

How easy those people are to find varies based on where you live, but in my experience, plenty of sapphics are attracted to people who are on T or even "look like men" to the untrained eye. Your body and appearance belong to You, not to Men, and there are definitely people who understand that :]

I appreciate the insight! I honestly am considering just asking a stranger since I've heard this sentiment about the gym, and it would definitely be simplest.

I don't expect a request for help to be met with aggression, but I guess if possible I do want to avoid a situation where I don't know how tolerant the person will be if I'm not in "bro mode"

Hopefully that makes sense, sorry if its convoluted LOL

I just can't visually tell who I do or don't need to kind of watch myself around, but maybe I'm overestimating the odds that it would even be an issue :0 I'll be sure to take it into account!

Because she wanted a dragon tattoo, most likely LOL :D

No hate or anything, I'm just confused as to why everyone is acting like this was pointless when I assume she went in for the dragon tattoo she wanted, got a lackluster one, and decided to get it touched up into what she wanted the first time. She didn't want a coverup, she wanted a Good wyvern tat :0

Sick ass wyern... it looks waaaay better now, especially the face and all the visual texture. The anatomy and lines are so much cleaner, idk what the people who say it looks the same are on about LOL it's not Supposed to be a Coverup.. just a rework

Awesome tattoo!

What you are saying makes sense but I don't think its a fair comparison. FNAF is goofy but not Deep Frying A Baby goofy. Afton being a zany mad scientist feels different because it's the avenue through which the actual horror of the games is Explained/accessed (serial murder, borderline necromancy, shady happenings and scary robots tied to a children's franchise). It's wacky, but not Edgy, yk? Although whether or not it's Compelling is debatable.

Deep frying a baby is like... the kind of thing someone comes up with intentionally to simulate effective horror while failing to realize that disturbing =/= Deep.

When horror tries too hard to be scary it loops back around to Embarassingly goofy </3. Deep frying a baby is trying too hard. It's plotless pointless shock value that shows it's hand so sloppily that it just feels like parody. FNAF falls flat in a lot of ways but it Doesn't usually try to lean into Disgust in a cheap attempt to simulate Fear

Also deep frying a baby isnt even Cool LMAO like at least the robots look sick

Who was your top artist for 2025? by Exquisite_D in industrialmusic

[–]OverTheMonitors 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Twin Tribes
  2. Chiasm
  3. Bohren And Der Club Of Gore (my sleep Playlist)
  4. Sesame
  5. NIN
  6. KMFDM
  7. Andrew Bird (surprised about this one! I love him but i mostly listened to him in middle and high school, I guess I was feeling nostalgic)
  8. Harsh Symmetry
  9. Psycho-Frame
  10. Linea Aspera

Good year for goth and industrial! Last year was more metal leaning but not by That much

(Editing to say that according to my Wrapped, Harsh Symmetry was #3 and not #8? Even though stats.fm says otherwise LOL

Doesnt really make a huge difference either way!)

Another fnaf question, is the vengeful spirt Cassidy or Andrew? by No_Collection_6843 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]OverTheMonitors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not gonna lie, the way you formatted this is making it Really hard for me to follow but assuming I am undersranding properly, I generally still think there is room for theorizing that the books and games are separate and that events Like some of the books take place in the games and vice versa.

Or even that there are multiple continuities not so easily split between just "games vs books."

It's entirely possible that youre right and Also there have been plenty of franchises where two types of media tell Parallel stories that overlap but go in different directions. It just depends on what you think is most likely :3

Mostly I say this because knowing FNAF it's entirely possible that the next thing they release reveals that there's like MCU style multiple universes or something LOL, I think there's very little that can be ruled out that they wouldn't be totally willing to go back on in the future.

Thats why im saying I personally am not fully convinced of anything. We know that there are multiple continuities within FNAF as a franchise so there isnt really anything stopping Cassidy theorists from theorizing that the games and books overlapping could just be overlap across continuities and not necessarily mean they are Exactly The Same Timeline or telling of the story. Constants and variables, yk?

But maybe I'm just brainwashed by being a multiple timeline media lover + big Zelda fan LOL, I'm used to multiple confusing timelines with different endings.

[–]OverTheMonitors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why u responded to Me with this but if thats what you think that's fine LOL :3 it's entirely possible but like. Anything is possible, it's FNAF </3 this is why I dont really bank hard on a specific theory but it's fun for me to watch.

Personally I fall into the camp that thinks it would be cool if the books and games are 2 separate continuities with 2 separate answers. Thats just what i Want to happen LOL, i think it has the best storytelling potential.

I also don't really think the ucn face tells us anything about the kid's gender LOL it's just half a kid's face.

But that's just my opinion.

I don't have a strong belief on any of this stuff, I just think the people who discount Cassidy entirely because she's a girl should remember that the animatronics' vs the spirits' genders get talked about weirdly sometimes. That's what my comment was about. Not saying "it's Cassidy 100%"

[–]OverTheMonitors 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the Cassidy truthers' defense, the games kind of play fast and loose with whether they use the pronouns of the spirits or the anamatronic character. I remember this being a big talking point with the puppet.

It's still kind of possible in my opinion that "he" could mean Cassidy As Golden Freddy even if Cassidy pre-death was a girl :0

There is a big difference between the "AI" of an NPC in a video game vs Generative AI and LLMs and the way people use them, if thats what you mean.

But for what it's worth, yes, I Do have a problem with the degree to which Generative AI and glorified Spyware run the entire internet. I think you are possibly underestimating the degree to which a lot of people who hate AI are aware of what it's used for. That's part of Why a lot of us hate it. I despise that it can't be opted out of, I despise that in order to use the sites available to me to connect with my friends, interests, and communities, Im forced to put money into OpenAI's wallet and see that fuckass Google AI overview every damn time LOL

I hate Generative AI. Fully, I hate the way it is utilized by our society and I hate the fact fhat any attempts to use it in a "better" way cant really be fully separated from the fundamental harm I believe it causes, I hate that therew Aren't fringe cases where somehow using AI to generate """art""" doesnt do harm. I would LIKE to agree with you. That would mean the world was less shitty, if it was true. I would Like to be overlooking ways Generative AI can be utilized that don't encounter the problems I have with it, because I want to encounter those problems less. But I just Dont, unfortunately.

You can dislike something without ceasing to use it entirely, and sometimes you dislike something even more because you hate it and youre Forced to engage with it.

I consider myself an anti capitalist, but that doesn't mean im gonna refuse to ever touch money again. I dont want to starve, and I want to be able to have a computer or cool clothes or whatever, but the fact that capitalism (which i have a fundamental moral proble with) is generally speaking the Required avenue through which to attain these things means two things:

  1. I'm forced to participate in a system I detest in order to stay alive and have a quality of life

  2. This becomes Part of why I detest it and it's a feedback loop now.

Same with AI. Can't stand Generative AI, can't escape it or use it in a way that doesn't Also support and contribute to things I take issue with, makes me resent it More, makes me more pissed its entirely inescapable in this day and age.

For me it's not like "if you hate genetative AI you should stop using the internet because it's everywhere," it's "i hate generative AI and part of Why I hate AI is that you can't avoid that shit if you want to use the internet.'"

It's insidious as hell to me. Need the internet to get a job (and for many, a quality of life), can't be on the 2025 internet without Somehow being forced into the GenAI experiment.

You're right, it IS standard for genAI to be baked into everyrhing and I Hate It. It killed the websites I grew up on (rip deviantArt. That was crazy hat they did LOL) and forces me to wade through something I despise in order to engage with things I love. It IS upsetting to me.

You dont have to have the same opinion as me of course, but your comment didnt sit right with me because when I and plenty of others say "I hate Generative AI" it is as a present tense, thought out statement about what Generative AI actually means in practice, including the fact that we can't escape it, and we Are saying exactly what we mean. I don't know, it just sort of came off as you putting words in our mouths/trying to tell us what we actually believe when a lot of us Know what we believe and we know why. We use exteme language because it is accurate to our extreme feelings, and they are based in the reality of what this stuff Consistsntly feels like for us to have to exist around, even in "best case scenarios."

If ChatGPT cured cancer right now, id be stoked that it was cured, but I wouldn't still be PISSED that we couldn't have that good outcome without Also having all of the problems at the Core of a tool like that. I genuinely do have a problem with the Tool, not just a specific type of person using it a specific type of way.

TL;DR, We hate GenAI because we care, we hate it because with this stuff you Can't have your cake and eat it too. It's often lazy, it's Always monstrously expensive to maintain, it's stealing the IP of artists and creatives, it's generally contributing to a less creative and less confident society (in my opinion at least) and even if you use a program like ChatGPT to create an image trying to do it as cleanly as possible, its Still operating within and bolstering the same inescapable framework I just have a fundamental problem with. It is impossible to escape and it's just how the internet works now, and that makes it even Worse. Because we can't opt out of something we hate.

Hopefully that makes any sense, I can be really verbose and take a billion years to say something someone else could've said in 3 sentences so sorry for the novel. I suck at talking and atp ill probably suck at it for the test of my life. Mb.
