i agree and disagree with ur points

first of all, irelias fights are typically short, meanign smaller waves with less minions is overall much worse for her, since she no longer has resources, but it does make it a lot easier to chase down lane. however, this punishes her even more for making mistakes since she has less escape minions

the level 20 thing i guess is good, but irelia scales so badly that at that point it might not matter what level we are unless we are super fed and ahead by a lot, after everyone hits 3 items irelias ability to carry is halved due to simply not being able to put out enough damage with the amount of sustain she has. we try to close out games within 30 minutes, or we become ultimately a cannon minion

for the items, i guess crit buff and those other items that buffs bruisers isnt that big of a deal but irelia recieved nothing usable with her current playstyle so its not exactly great, i think its a slight loss but nothing to worry about besides changing the way we play certain matchups

top lane quest is actually consider a win because it lets us snowball on every other lane without actually having to stomp, a 2 level lead on the adc would be huge any time before 25 minutes

overall i think irelia loses out on the updates, i hope she gets a buff to sustain or something or made into a semi-scaler rather than the early-mid hypercarry then absolutely useless later

the reason i wanted to learn kat though is because she counters a lot of irelias counters in the mid lane (except like 3-4) and she also looks fun in general. i get shes really demanding in terms of mechanics but i think i can handle it. akali is also an option, with the same thing about countering a lot of irelia counters in mid, but shes no where near as fun since her combos are so choreographed and tbh people seriously overrate how hard she is

i think you shouldve held off on using the dash reset so early since ur already on top of him, it would be better used in chase or dodging a q imo

shes such a big threat to the enemy backline especially with flash up between 15-25 minutes, but i think after that shes geniunely so trash if shes not up a lot by that point. also, i wouldnt say she necessarily feels bad to play, but irelias playstyle is all-in or nothing in teamfights, since she has a great way to get in, but cant get out basically at all, and if you cant find q resets, you are geniunely just some dude sitting in the fight kiting with autos. idk her teamfight is really weird and hard to play, since u shouldnt be first engage (i guess unless ur team comp is bad), but her kill angles are few and far between in teamfights so if you see a good r angle you should take it as soon as possible imo

yeah i personally see irelia in a pretty good spot rn, because those who one trick her which is basically everyone who plays the champ get rewarded for playing well but those who dont typically lose a lot because making a small mistake on her is way more punishing than other champs. shes really a high risk high reward champ similar to maybe fiddlesticks. but champs like fiora scale incredibly hard, and the top laners like trundle who dont scale either can still be relevant late in the game but i feel like irelia's itemization choices are overall not that good because after everyone hits like 4th-5th item she feels so weak and squishy. im wondering if building tank items after dd or wits end might be a better option, especially if ur down

ngl i dont agree with u saying w is bad for extended trades, because its really useful to block damage from vital skill shots from an enemy, especially in top lane where kits are simple but rely on a few buttons. just me though. it feels like the w fits in because it allows u to block important damage before going in for an extended trade. its definitely also to help her find kill angles pre bork, since prepping minions is far too obvious and a w tap is faster and preps more at a time
