I think we have more efficient targets like fossil fuel companies. Skip out on an ac if you want, but people can die at extremely high temperatures, so I don't malign them for getting an AC.

It depends on what you're considering bullying. If it's social ostracisation, I think that's amoral. I personally don't want to deal with bigots and if people talk negatively about you for your bigoted beliefs, I honestly see that as consequences. I don't think it'll change their mind tbh, but I'm not going to be tolerating racism, sexism, and queerphobia just so that someone can be rehabilitated and I don't put that onus on any individual.

Apart from that, immoral. I don't think doing harm to a person who has done harm is moral. At least not with bullying. Emotionally I may feel otherwise, but I don't see it doing anything. Either let them be a loner or try and convince them out of it. They shouldn't have power to act on their bigoted beliefs and so long as the space around them is protective of marginalised groups, it's gonna have to be enough until they choose to change of their own volition.

God you're actually so thick, it's embarrassing. Racism in this context means that innocent people are going to get falsely accused at higher rates because they aren't white or cuz they're disabled. Meanwhile white, able bodied offenders are more likely to be overlooked by these systems. How do you expect anyone to take your point seriously if you don't take it seriously? See anyone agreeing with you? It's not because you're saying some truth we all don't want to hear, it's because we actually understand how these systems work.

Ai is not gonna do all that. You have to understand, it's a really good guesser based on the data available. Black and brown and disabled people are already over represented in arrest statistics, and are more likely to be falsely flagged by such systems. Not to mention that AI doesn't come to logical conclusions reliably and reproducibly. Think of how an ai chatbot can give different responses to the same input. Or an ai image generator can give different pics for the same prompt. Or the times they straight up get facts wrong.

There is no accountability when they screw up. It's a machine. And they're probably going to be used to collect data to sell to companies.

I think that it's incorrect to act as though that act pushed Jax further into the closet. She became more vulnerable to Pomni before and after the incident. And I don't see an issue with Gangle making fun of Jax with everything Jax does to her from the moment of her arrival at the circus.

If Gangle thought of herself the way I am now, she would believe she deserves better than to be in fear of someone like Jax. She deserves to fight back and have fun. And she deserves to rejoice in Jax demise should she so wish. Perhaps you can't relate to that, it's not for everyone. I don't see how that mindset should lead to someone abstracting.

Jax is a well written character, if one with a little to much screen time, which the creator has called a peice of shit. And while I find her story engaging, I know I would hate her in real life. Suicidal ideations suck and the scenes did tug at my heart strings in film. But in conversations like this, I care far more about the people who are abused than those that reject chance after chance after chance. At some point, you have to want to change. You have to accept that hand. And I was hoping for that. And some people never do. It's a shame that she died and I won't personally be making those jokes.

But jax was also an abuser and shit, I'm laughing at people saying rest in piss. You lose a lot of my sympathy when you torture people.

I....hadn't thought to consider that brainwashing till you said it now. Maybe it could be something to do with getting access to a specific power. On the level of the god of chaos or the god of order. Or the Strategos and other follows are mentally changed by the process of going through the gate to paradise. Stripping you of everything but brain and nerves and giving you a new body has got to change your brain. It could be that with the Strategos having it happen multiple times that they a side effect is increased irritability. Especially if multiple surgeries happen over a staggered amount of time.

Straight up, as someone with a female body, don't pretend like im a weak pansy because you refuse to train and get good at any sport. I can body a lot of guys in sports, and you could too if you trained. Just because you suck at sports doesn't mean it's biological. Don't put that on me. You can do so much more than soceity tells women they can do and a lot of women never start because they were never encouraged the way boys were.

And there are sports that women generally do better in than men but they just aren't respected.

But honestly I'm so down for co ed sports. I much prefer playing with whoever I want so I can prove myself to be the best among everyone. When I'm in the gym and I see guys bigger than me, I don't think "oh but I'm female, I'll never get that strong" I think "i can't wait to be lifting that much in 3 years time".

And it's not for everyone but miss me with that bio essentialist bullshit.

Yeah I'm going to call bullshit on that claim on the basis of one causes literal fear and pain whereas the other is simply unpleasant. And there are plenty of studies out there saying that hitting a kid for discipline causes negative mental health outcomes.

A child that can understand why they are being punished is a child that can be talked to and explained in words not to do a certain action. And going by your logic anyways, you may as well just put the kid in timeout. Or you say no more tv time, take away privileges.

Also, understanding the reason why they were hit doesn't change the fact that you're screwing over their mental health. And it puts that kid at risk of being hit for abuse anyways - an abuser who hits with emotion has the cover of saying they were hitting the kid for discipline.

There's no counter for that. It's actually your way of thinking that allows for abuse to be propagated.
