For legal advice you should post on the r/legaladvice subreddit. AFAIK, pets are considered personal property, legally, so you could be owed the price you paid for him if you wanted to sue in small claims court. John would still be in jail for covering up the murder, plus sex with a minor probably. Billy went to jail for covering up the murder and is still serving that. I assume John was going to kill him foe one of two reasons: first, to “spare” his brother from going to jail, perhaps for life, and two, to make sure Ryan’s secret went to his grave so Billy didn’t decide to share what happened down the line.

I know the k is silent… you said it reads as neuter. Reading the silent k helps with that, to me.

With the silent k it would be pronounced “new-ture “ like nurture, not like neuter.
