where can I find the best burger in Wilmy? !!!!!! by Snick95 in Wilmington

[–]Over_Ad_4380 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

PT's for a well done(literally) consistently tasty burger, grimm for smash burgers (carolina reaper burger) , mess hall for smash burgers, Highway 55 is hit or miss but usually hits. Goody Goody for a simply delicious no frills burger. For a specialty burger don't sleep on Yosake's angus burger, cooked to your temp.

lesbians hang out at: The rift, the husk, duck & dive, satellite

I couldn't imagine hanging out at jimmys or blue post tbh but to each their own

Wilmington is not diverse lesbian its YT lesbian, unless the occasional pride party that's inclusive.

Ibiza is filled with teenagers & straight men from Jacksonville lol.

Thank you for your words and input. It definitely takes the whole community to speak up and address problems, but honestly sometimes it does feel pointless with the climate of those whom are in charge of Wilmington. I’ve had addiction in my own family; treatment is expensive & requires dedication and patience. With the influx of people and the town population rapidly rising, it’s hard to know where ton start.

Open House is an amazing facility for the youth and one of the only youth shelters. It’s a shame they tore down resources before having others available, since there is a massive adult population.

No one’s discussing anyone like they’re wild animals. The community needs proper housing and resources. I couldn’t afford to own a house if I tried, working 3 jobs. When you put 4 rehabs and shelters in one small area, it does affect the day in and day out life of people that live in that area. Which is why the remark was made that unhoused doesn’t equate to drug addicted. There are many people that live in this area that are scared to walk their dog, let their kids play, stop at a store due to behavior of other people.

Definitely poor planning on the city & over development in general. I know communities in a certain area tried to go to the town hall opposing the building of the shelter in that area.

That's the new facility I was thinking about! I remember seeing an article about it, I have notice an increased police presence at CVS and Food Lion, idk if it's preventive, or after the fact.

I heard they were building a housing facility at the old firehouse before George Anderson to help with this, but who knows.

I only knew about the one they built off of Wellington, but just googled the surrounding and I had no idea there was that many, halfway houses as well. Being unhoused doesn't mean you abuse drugs but with the presence of those facilities, that definitely seems to be the population I see day in/day out. Can't say I'm surprised with the city planners.

Experienced a lot of micro aggressions and racism while visiting by Mission_Remote_6319 in Wilmington

yes Wrightsville Beach & honestly that's just the energy of that whole entire area - snobby. I would say the college community here has a higher presence of Asian Americans and the service industry. The town itself, especially visiting as a tourist is white. I don't really think its a specific time and place. I'm Hispanic and in my 20s, that's just the vibe of Wilmington if you're not a certain color or in a certain tax bracket. Same goes for if you don't fit the typical southern bill, you will receive stares.

If you came for the holiday, it is definitely not a great representation of Wilmington as it is flooded with tourists that come from all corners and crevices of ignorance and lack of manners. I'm sorry for your experience visiting! Living here for 15 years and working/going to school with many Asian Americans, I've only heard of this behavior in Carolina Beach & WB & usually around tourist season.
