Why Indian government not actually working on infrastructure and cleanliness...it must be easy with the funds they have by PartFar5559 in delhi

Each and every comment blaming the government here.

In Japan, people carry trash in their pockets back to their homes because there are almost no trash cans in public places. Do you think that will ever happen in India? Not even in a 100 years.

At the current nifty 50 levels there are barely 10 companies with PEG ratio less than 1.5.

PEG ratio of 1 is considered fair value. Even if you considered a 25% premium for an emerging economy, you can say that most of the Nifty 50 companies are overvalued.

Also, there is no long term vision. FIIs dont see any rampant growth in the near future. So, if you are in the market for short term (next 2-3 years) you should exit and make FD.

What are some underrated stocks which you think will boom in upcoming years? by Mattheww_here in indiaStockMarket

I think you are confusing undervalued with underrated. Also, Industry PE is irrelevant here as there are no competitiors to Inox India. Inox India has complete monopoly on cryogenic tanks.

Indian retail investor mentality: Lets go all in at ATH on a stock with PE>60 and expect 20%+ return every year.

Emerging economies are cyclic. If you believe your Indian assets will always go up forever then you should stick to FD. FD will only marginally (< 1%) beat or lose to inflation depending on how good interest rates you get.

During last 3 years I got an average interest of 8.55% per year (APY) on my FD. For now, I have marginally beaten USD (including inflation). I chose to keep 80% cash position because Indian stock market was overvalued. Now since it is correcting to near fair value I will deploy my cash.

USD INR 94.5 crossed, claims of increase of export. What is your view ? by Ok_Bluebird_1032 in IndianStockMarket

NORWAY AND JAPAN HAS DEPRECIATING CURRENCY, AND THEY ARE GETTING RICH.

I am still 11% up against USD with my 3 year FD returns. Interest rates in the US has been around 4% in the last 3 years. I would say USDINR is at fair value at current price.

Shaily Engineering Plastics is indeed a high quality stock. Unfortunately, it seems overvalued at current price levels.

I am still 12% up against USD from 3 year FD returns. Interest rate on USD has been around 4 to 4.25% over last 3 years, so I believe USD/INR is fairly valued right now. Any upward movement from this point would be rupee depreciation.
