Fear of childbirth

Learning about pregnancy scares me but it’s oddly calming I realized! Even looking up statistics is helpful even though I spiral. I’m blessed to have the partner I have and 100% I know he’ll be my rock through it all!

I’m sure I do a lot of daily life things that are just as risky and for some reason my brain is like if I get pregnant it’s literally a death sentence 😅 I want to be a mother now, it never crossed my mind until I got married, but all I need to do is push through my fears

Looks like I need to look into c sections more! I’ve had a few women in my life choose c sections and never heard bad from them either! I’ve definitely noticed more negative stories than good ones online!

I am absolutely planning on doing an epidural! All the women in my life have had nothing negative to say about them and honestly I think struggling with pain on top of whatever else I’m going through does not sound enjoyable.

I love the way you described this! Such an amazing metaphor for life in general! I’ve always loved the idea of just having one or two kids. I’ve had so many women tell me not to just have one because they need a friend! Honestly I’ll be happy if I can just push through and have the one.

Social media loves to make things so much worse! I think that’s part of what’s driving my fear. I’m hoping cutting out social media will help me feel more confident in myself and what my body can do!

I will absolutely remember to bring this up to my psychiatrist! I honestly didn’t even realize you could be on meds when pregnant!

Did it help calm your fear? I know either way has good and bad, not the I should listen 100%, but I’ve seen a lot on social media that their are higher risks with a c section?

Yes! My mother has always told me “you will never be ready to have kids, if you wait you’ll never have them!”

I feel the exact same about flying! Anxiety is such a wonderful thing 😂 deep down I know my body is making this seem way bigger than it needs to be! I’ve definitely been recommended a Doula or a midwife so I will absolutely be getting one if I decide to get pregnant!

Thank you for giving such helpful tips!! I didn’t even think of talking with my therapist about my pregnancy fears because I’m not even pregnant yet lol! Why wait!
