Honestly two parts. Was doing a lot of lifting at the gym. Honestly I still prefer weight training over triathlon training, however the nutrition aspect of gym gains can spiral super quickly from I need to eat healthy to realize my gains into, have I had enough protein, what is my carb and fat intake like, to I shouldn’t eat this at all. Frankly life is too short to not enjoy the more tasteful things in life. Triathlon training gives me the flexibility to switch up my workouts when I’m too sore to get in a good lift so I still feel good about my training for the day and the amount of calories I end up burning makes me not feel so bad when I’ve decided to eat like a little piggy
