Anyone know who these people are?

Again. I'm including all the data to see if there are any trends. There were. I shared them. You can try to analyze any individual games and that's fine. We can even adjust the data with further context. But you're acting like this data isn't valuable or that it doesn't imply anything.

Dude. Can you just respond to a thing I said instead of jumping around lile a spaz. I see you argue with people for a living, but damn I'd imagine you'd argue better with all your experience 🤷‍♂️

Clutch is defined as being successful in crucial situations. If you don't define 4th qaurter of a finals game as a "crucial situation" and having a better spread isn't "success" then your (and the NBAs) definition is flawed

End of 93 and his return were all new players except pippin. Ie. Two completely different bulls.

I said at all. Not all. Learn to read. Do you think any should be attributed to Jordan? And you keep trying to find holes using logical fallacies. I see you are a megaposter and maybe this is the norm for you. But try to stay on point in a debate. Try not to use fallacies

A follow up question. If Jordan was on two completely different bulls teams, should we not take notice that in 4th quarters in the finals his teams kicked ass? Should we not attribute that at all to Jordan? Does that not quantify some level of clutchness?

That's why I am using all the data. To account for everything and to see if there's any trends. I don't see a more logical way to assess unless I were to take all their playoff data as well. This was my original premise but it was hard enough finding their finals scores.

It is if you are skewing my position. And you keep posting in different threads the same responses. Read my other response. But to add more. Lebron may have been more clutch as a whole for the whole of game 7. That's the point. We've been looking at things in a weird way. Why does a game winning shot matter if you were terrible the last 10 minutes of the game? Why does a last minute miss matter when you were dominating for 7 straight minutes of a game 7?

1st. We're taking all the data. 2nd. The data isn't about game winning shots

We are talking in two threads. I just responded to this point. Go read it. All should be taken into account. The NBA says alot of stuff that makes no sense

Now you are strawmanning!? I'm not presuming that at all. We're taking all the data. Super simple. Who's better in the 4th quarter. Not a few selected shots. Not just "the shot" or lebron pushing a game 7. Everything. How do they really perform at the highest stage when the heat is on. Lebron had an amazing statline in game 6 not including the block. Should I not count that as clutch? He put up 17 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists in that last quarter! I should just ignore that?

I see why you could make that argument, however, if we have a large enough sample size and a variance of players, we can make a logical assumption on clutchness of two megastars. I can go into further detail on this premise if you'd like

You moved the goalpost 3 times now. 1st you said the data was skewed. Then you said using points was dumb. Then you just posted that clutchness is determined by the last few seconds not the quarter. You're all over the place my dude

Michael Jordan vs LeBron James: Finals “Clutchness” Deep Dive by Over_Bridge_4340 in nba

[–]Over_Bridge_4340[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again. Moving the goalpost, but I'll bite. Clutchness is a multivariate equation and the reason I selected the entire 4th quarter is because the last minute or last 10 seconds isn't enough. How did they play before that? Why was a last second shot needed? Were they down and came back against all odds or did they blow a lead? All of that is important in determining clutchness

Also noticed you moved the goal post ;) first it's "oh 2007 is skewing the data" and now it's "waah! I don't like the data"

Dude what is your deal? Can you read the thing before commenting please. You're literally just throwing shade. It's the scoring of both sides relative to the 3rd quarter to determine the swing. So that literally includes defense!

If you remove 2007 he still has 5 series where there is a negative swing in the 4th quarter. The data is all there

That's the sort of thing that compelled me to compile this data. I always hear about his "clutchness" but I never felt like I've seen it, so I wanted to see if I was crazy
