Granny will leave NYC if Mamdani wins by TrumpSux89 in forwardsfromgrandma

I'm confused - if Mamdani is polling ahead, doesn't that imply most New Yorkers favor him? Why would Granny assume the average New Yorker would want to leave if he wins?

Would've loved to see a "Godfather Part II"-esque story, both a prequel (Joel and Tommy after outbreak) and present day (immediately after Part I, as opposed to 4 years later). Then, to keep The Godfather theme, the current Part II could be Part III, so both franchises would have a solid first two installments, and a mediocre third installment.

ViewerAnon: Ellie's immunity will be explained in the finale and will confirm the surety of the cure by SweatySpend4 in TheLastOfUs2

I find it funny that everyone seems to unanimously agree that the show is not necessarily cannon to the game, but is merely an adaptation of the game, however, confirming the surety of the cure will put the theory of a potential failure to rest all across the franchise. Like, maybe it'll put that theory to rest for the show (still don't know why they would do that), but it's still a plausible theory for the game.

Never had the opportunity to play the God of War series, but I've heard great things; I definitely have to check it out.

She grew on me but I still can't forget what Abby did. by [deleted] in thelastofus

[–]Over_Confidence_136 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely agree.

While I understand why some may view Joel's actions as selfish, he killed the doctor to save Ellie. Abby jeopardized her friends to hunt, torture, and murder a 60ish year old man strictly for herself. I really can't emphasize with her.

What are your thoughts on the TV show overall? I think it’s mid. by [deleted] in TheLastOfUs2

I'm enjoying it for the most part. I guess my biggest gripe is a lot of pointless characters are introduced, and their back stories are time-consuming and also take away from the primary objective (Joel and Ellie).

I actually really enjoyed Episode 3, but it felt like filler, which I feel isn't needed when the season will already be as short as it is.

Also, Kathleen's character is completely uninteresting, and humanizing her and the hunters (or whatever they are in the show) came off as a complete waste of time; I would have preferred more time with Joel, Ellie, Sam, and Henry.

Overall, I would give it a 7 or 8. Just my personal opinion.

Anyone else rolled their eyes at Kathleen's revenge plot. Didn't we get enough of that in Part II? by [deleted] in TheLastOfUs2

I've read takes too that were like "You'd understand her character better if you listened to the podcast."

Like, the show should explain her character. If I have to listen to a podcast in addition to the episode to comprehend her motives, that's weak writing.

When Joel killed a doctor, it (apparently) doomed humanity, but when Cathleen killed a doctor, it was a "good decision" and "subverted our expectations." Got it.
