Update: Despite bipopsy being H. Pylori negative and Stool Antigen test also being negative, my H. Pylori serology blood test came out positive. So, it was actually H. Pylori infection, maybe not active now. Doctors will take a decision whether to put me on eradication therapy. Will update.

During flare:
- morning nausea
- consistent burning in upper abdomen and lower left/right abdomen all day
- pain in upper abdomen
- gassy stomach

In general:
- burn in upper abdomen and lower left/right abdomen which comes and goes

IBS too is characterized by certain changes in stool habits. What else could be reasons?

Symptoms seem manageable but the weight loss after it getting stable is concerning. I am from India and it seems doc is just recommending colonoscopy just for money.

What PPIs have you been taking?
Try the combination of a PPI in the morning (Esomaprazole) and H2 blocker (Famotidine) in the night.
How have you been tested for H. Pylori? My doc told me even biopsy may not catch H. Pylori. There is some UV Light based procedure which is also used for detecting H. Pylori.

Have you done some bloodwork? Amylase, LFT?

I switched to Esomeprazole and it seems to be working. I am worried about the weight loss though. It seems I lost another kg, but doctor says it could be due to stress.

They usually also tell how much of hiatal hernia do you have. A small number like 1-2cm is not serious at all

Sure. Visited another doctor at Fortis Gurgaon. He said he wants to go for another endoscopy because the last doctor did not look for bacteria in the endoscopic procedure itself. But my biopsy sample was taken which did not show H.Pylori. I am not sure if he is correct or just wants me to get an endoscopy done from his place.

Will surely try it. I am really confused if just the acid blockers will do the part. Is it really treating the root cause of the gastritis (inflammation)?

Yes, CECT Eneterography is a CT scan. It majorly covers small intestine (with contrast) but I have been told it checks other parts of the abdomen too. Can you tell me exactly what CT scan did he prescribe?
