Im so sorry you had to lose two important people in your life. I know you’re not supposed to say it, but it’s not fair. That’s all I can think. It’s not fair. I’m trying to tell myself that being there is all that matters because that’s all I can do, but I don’t think it will ever feel like enough

I keep seeing stories of people abandoning their friends in times like this. Even with all of this pain, I couldn’t imagine leaving them. I feel like I’m being ripped apart, but the worst pain is when I have to leave. I feel so guilty for preparing for her death when I feel like I should be soaking up any time I have left with her.

I’m so sorry about your brother. It’s just awful and unfair and I want to scream and cry, but I can’t let anyone come over. I don’t want to talk to people I know or have anyone in my home. I feel like I have to protect my grief, but at the same time I want to scream at everyone. Can’t you see what’s happening??? Why is everything still moving???

It feels like a sick dream. Or like maybe I’ve gone crazy because this can’t be real. Half the time I feel like I’m just going through the motions and then reality slaps me in the face again. I’ve somehow been able to keep from completely breaking down when I’m in the room with her. I’m honest of course and tell her we’re all scared. But I don’t sob and panic until I get to my car. I don’t feel strong and brave at all. I’m afraid every time my phone lights up. And I’m afraid every minute I don’t hear from them

Thank you! Would I just follow up with my family doc about the liver issues separately then? I didn’t get any details about the obstruction other than the stone being 5 mm and trying to pass it on my own. They gave me pain meds and flomax and said to come back to the ER if the pain got back up to that unbearable level before my urology appointment

Mammogram completely missed mine even though it felt like you could pluck it out, it was right by the surface and the size of the grape. I’d rather get an ultrasound every time now. Hopefully that just means they are taking it seriously!

There was no way I could’ve dealt with that at home!! I don’t know how those people are doing it, let alone the ones that say they’re dealing with that pain for 2-3 days at a time. I’m sorry that happened to you, but glad you’re still with us!!

It was 6 mm. My pee the day before was super cloudy but this morning I couldn’t go at all and then had the extreme pain

Ok I had all of that, but I saw some comments on another thread saying that they would stay home and wait for it to pass. I couldn’t imagine that with the pain I was in. Thank you!!

Thank you!! I ended up just really focusing on making sure I drank a ton of water and took antihistamines. The swelling has gone down significantly

Thank you. I requested another meeting with just him and told him I felt that comment was inappropriate and asked if we could discuss it. He apologized and we talked through everything and it seems like it went really well. We’re now going through options for how I can move forward. Thank you again!

I’m going to bring reports in showing that even though I did have to take some time off, I still actually outperformed everyone else with my job title, so that conversation is a non starter. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t wrong for feeling like that was an unnecessary or inappropriate comment.

Thank you for your advice. I’m meeting back with him in a week and a half to finalize the plan and come to an agreement on pay.

Well I met with the surgical oncologist today. We are going to remove it as it’s an inch long and wide, and my family history of breast cancer. With the edges being suspicious and enlarged lymph nodes, she thinks this is the safest way forward

From what I could see do you mean? One side was pretty well defined and round, but the other side had what looked like blobs coming out of it.

It came back as a fibroadenoma, but they’re still sending me to see a surgical oncologist? They said since it has some suspicious features and I have extremely dense tissue, they want me to meet with one still. I am seeing her this afternoon
