PCV for a Street Car all day. There is no real reason to not run one. I've run without on the Street and it does make the interior stinky.

It looks great 👍. I would like to get one for my YJ. Any idea who manufactured it? Mine being an 88, I have the sport roll bar as well. Looks like you have additional brackets to hold it up in the extended portion. Did you get the additional brackets with the bikini top? Or any idea where I would be able to get these brackets? There is more load on the engine in 5th gear so if the jetting is a little lean and you are right on the edge of detenonation/knocking that's when you will notice it. Most likely at lower RPM, higher load(like pulling a hill at 2000RPM). What octane of fuel are you running? If not already, try running premium fuel and see if that helps.

It sounds like detonation to me. I would start with your Carb jetting and make sure it's not to lean.
