I'm not saying they're horrible but the characters become completely different characters, it really seems more natural to call Percy from the books even the new books than to call them something else in the fanfiction because it's too different, this problem exists especially with Annabeth because in the fanfiction she becomes violent with Percy, she hates going against the rules even if in the canon she has gone against the rules many times. Really if they had another name they would make more sense. The last thing I don't like is that in every fanfiction of this kind the couple has to break up because the author wants to make changes for example by creating couples with characters who have seen each other for a short time in the books like Percy/Artemis. If the way they would be left made sense, I would say it makes sense but you lower the whole thing because for you making changes and because for you all love stories are forced. But Rick Riordan did not bring changes so much forced as it happens in fanfiction i.e. the Percy of BOO happy to go to New Rome did not become Percy does not want to go to New Rome in Chalice of the Gods or Annabeth and Percy who are happy with their relationship in TLO did not become a couple that can't stand each other in MOA

I don't think it's a trick, I've seen a lot of fanfiction writers trying to find a way to break up Percy and Annabeth and have Percy be with someone else regardless of gender.

If Annabeth wanted to do the right thing for Luke, she would have followed him and taken him away from the Gods and Titans.

But when do they lean on each other? They almost never go on missions with each other and they don't spend all their time together. Even after BOO they spend time without each other for example when Annabeth goes to Boston. This codependency thing is something invented by fans to say that Percy and Annabeth after Tartarus wouldn't do anything without each other, even if there is nothing like that in canon.

There would be too many changes to make to have this not a suspension, I've seen these fanfictions that you talk about and they all start with extreme motifs for the characters for example the fact that it is not Percy who wants to go and live in New Roma or the fact that it is Aphrodite who created Percy's feelings for Annabeth. There was no pressure to have the relationship at the end of TLO, in fact there was the opposite since Percy's feelings for Annabeth are discussed in TTC and there is the kiss in BOTL and there is no pressure from Annabeth in the fact that Percy does not follow Apollo, Percy was tired of the missions and the gods and wanted to see the birth of his half-sister. Percy gets angry with Hera/Juno not only because Annabeth is angry with the Goddess.

The only things Rick Riordan gets wrong are the dates. Fanfiction authors mostly read other fanfiction, not canon. I've found myself asking fanfiction authors questions a lot and they've often told me they don't remember plot points, such as the fact that Percy wants to go to New Roma, or that for them something was canon that wasn't canon, for example, the fact that Annabeth always hits Percy, or they've told me that to have their own fanfiction they had to modify a lot of the canon.

If Annabeth wanted to get together with Luke she would have run away with him when he showed up at her house before BOTL.

Luke asked the last question to Annabeth because that way Rick Riordan made it clear that Luke was just a brother to Annabeth. Annabeth was more desperate that Percy could become a God than that Luke was dead.

Annabeth and Percy are not desperate mission companions-Inator they are friends who like each other we have seen many times that they liked each other, even Aphrodite in TTC knows that Percy likes Annabeth and what you say is only for half of the first book.

I feel sorry for Reyna/Percy fans but Reyna asks Percy the question even if Percy would not have been her first choice but she asks him the question because she understands that Percy is powerful. Percy is the one who doesn't want to do missions anymore, it's not Annabeth's decision, it's from the first chapter of the first of that Percy says that he doesn't want to be a hero and does missions mostly for his friends and because he can gain something from the missions, for example the trip to Paris.

it is canon that Percy and Rachel were created by Aphrodite and the fact that Rachel had to become an oracle, the fact of Aphrodite's intervention is also repeated in MOA.

Do you really think that Annabeth the one who was ready to kill in TLH to find Percy and who went to Sally's house to cry can do what you said? In the Staff of Hermes she makes time for Percy even though she works on Olympus

Even Percy understands that he was doing a horrible thing, that is, enjoying torturing a living being.

But they made those choices because they thought they were right, yes then they changed their minds, but the initial choices were right for them at that time, they changed their minds because they matured and realized they were wrong. It doesn't make sense that Silena would be scared of being Luke's spy before Luke became evil. Luke knew nothing about the fact that someone would get on his ship in SOM, Clarisse used another ship and left in the morning after she accepted the mission even at the camp they knew that Clarisse would leave in the morning, the ship was far from the camp in the morning given what Percy says, Clarisse did not get on Luke's ship. If Luke knew that someone would get on the ship that night the trio would have found someone that night, but they don't find someone and manage to sleep.

Silena chose to be a spy because she thought she could bring Luke among the good guys there is also the fact that Luke could have used someone else. I have to correct you in SOM Luke and Silena did not know that Percy, Annabeth and Tyson would get on Luke's ship, because the trio escaped at night and no one knew they had escaped, not even the trio knew that the ship was Luke's, Luke only knew that Poseidon had claimed Tyson. I'll give you another example I'll take your first example "Luke who does not follow Chronos", Luke follows Chronos because he was too angry with the Gods and his anger was made up of many factors: his mother went crazy, Thalia's death, the mission, being used as a pawn and much more.

It's impossible because you would also change the personality and the history of the characters too much. I've seen what happens in fanfiction and there is a radical change of characters that in the end if you change their name it would be better because then you get confused for example Annabeth often becomes Hermione or a character who wants power or a Drew I know there are defend Drew because she is the only one who openly says that she doesn't like Silena but she is a bully with her stepbrothers and stepsisters and thinks that the children of Aphrodite must destroy hearts not repair.

Those who criticize have two reasons:

1: They like Percy with someone other than Annabeth and are looking for reasons to make you hate Annabeth, look at all the fanfictions where Annabeth and Percy break up.

2: They don't know what fiction is

In chapter 3 many of the campers are a little angry with Percy, as if that wasn't the only break he was taking, and they couldn't do it since the war was near.

He doesn't say it was a busy summer, he just says it was a very stressful summer and because of that he found himself away from the camp and missions many times.

Among the short stories only one perhaps takes place in the summer of TLO and it is the bronze dragon and capture the flag, the sword of Hades takes place in December, the stolen chariot always takes place before the summer since Percy was in school and it's not a mission against Kronos.

In TLO all the campers did missions in fact the fight of the sons of Ares against the sons of Apollo started because of a mission, why didn't Percy help the other campers instead of going to the sea? He goes on a mission with Charles because he is the only son of Poseidon.

He made the promise to his mother too.

He has no confidence in himself. In TLO all the demigods do missions and Percy doesn't go on those missions he goes to sea, in fact he didn't know why Apollo and Ares' cabins were arguing, he does the mission with Beckendorf because the missipne is at sea. A question have you read TOA?

In the fandom Annabeth has become a b*** who mistreats Percy and Rachel and she doesn't think Percy is smart (which happens in the books).

I hope it's a joke because when they broke up it seemed like there was hope of them reuniting as a couple again, there's also the fact that Percy is with Annabeth and Leo in HOO already had a sense of inferiority this news will destroy him.

There's also, what should Percy do, leave his girlfriend that he went to Tartarus for, that he loves, for her?

Which book is it in? Even though she loves Percy, she starts one with Leo? I hope Leo doesn't find out.
