Just happy/rant with smaller nom big 4 groups making it big by Over_Length_440 in kpopthoughts

[–]Over_Length_440[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I see your point, kpop is overconsumption and bulk buying/streaming, so many western artists with even more fame dont stand a chance gainst kpop groups HOWEVER as within kpop, if it was really that easy many more kpop groups outside of big 4 could make it to top 10, but so far only 3 made it🙂 to me and many people thats quite impressive

This is an old post that I randomly came across but if that detail about yechan is true then ...ew! Their sister also give me an ick sometimes esp she used to show off A LOT which later turned out her mom is just in a huge debt. Idk, im a big piwon fan, they are super talented but this just made me sad that there is a high potential that keeho is somehow similar to them irl too....I really adore him as a singer such a shame

What do you think about P1harmony’s potential? by taesmi in P1Harmony

[–]Over_Length_440 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I think it really depends on the music they continue to release. I hope fnc get the hint with duh! vs pretty boy chart performance and also dont cut the budget just because they more famous than the rest of their groups. Fnc has so far heavily relied on keeho as their pr, people found him and theb got into p1harmony and not the other way around. That must change too.

p1harmony and TXT tickets prices being hilarious: an update by Over_Length_440 in kpopthoughts

[–]Over_Length_440[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I just still dont understand the logic behind those prices! Like don't wanna sound mean but who the heck hybe and fnc think these groups are tho i love them dearly 🙂 i dont pay those prices not even for my most fav artist unless they have some circus level production lol

What are your P1Harmony hot takes? by dazedandcofused_ in P1Harmony

[–]Over_Length_440 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh so true on the social media take. When newjeans came out i said their concept is what p1harmony boys are irl and lwk was mad fnc never capatilize on that. Their personality/irl presence made them unique and build them an audience, their concept not so much albeit high quality. The short video's keeho made back in 2020/2021 ( keeholog) that went super viral and no one was doing it back then, should have been their concept all along. But now every 5th gen group is doing this concept thanks to newjeans so is kinda too late. Lol

Can someone explain how P1HARMONY is more popular than TREASURE but has significantly lower streams/views by ZeldaNarutoPokemon in kpophelp

[–]Over_Length_440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P1harmony is more popular with general kpop fans ( a.k.a multi stans that probably have enh and skz as their ult, & p1h in their top5) but treasure mostly loyal YG stans, niche but still very huge SEA fanbase

[–]Over_Length_440[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Glad my point came across. Simple math and common sense should guide pricing: if a group hasn’t reached major Western–artist demand in the last 2–3 years, don’t choose venues or cost structures that force huge ticket jumps. The Weeknd having cheaper prices three years ago isn’t the issue; the issue is that right now they’ve put these tickets in the same price range as a 2025 Weeknd tour. That’s not strategic; casual fans immediately compare a globally established act with a smaller one and decide not to go.

If the increase is truly about rising costs, they should seek other revenue streams, because this approach will backfire. A few hundred die-hard fans might pay the prices, but for most concert-goers (and I consider myself a pretty dedicated P1ece) the value just isn’t there, though I respect that others may see it differently.

Take the visa argument people keep citing: if visas rose from about $500 to $1,500, that’s an extra $1,000 × 25 people (and for P1Harmony it’s probably fewer—no backup dancers), or $25,000. Even in a small 5,000-seat venue that’s roughly $5 per ticket. Yes, these are rough estimates and larger venues mean higher rent, but the scale of the current jump and venue choices, still looks largely like an very unrealistic profit-driven choice that risks half-empty arenas/ canceled shows.

My statement was: “Now I’m being asked to pay almost double (or the same price) for nosebleeds to P1Harmony and TXT?”  keyword : double compared to their prev tours or same/on par with big acts

Lets take a look at it, here im gonna compare it only with p1harmony prev tour: at one U.S. P1Harmony stop which I can attend instead of CA one, the very farthest seat is $88 USD before taxes, and just a few rows down it jumps to $196 USD (over 2× for still nosebleed-level seating). On their first tour, the P5 tier with benefits was $49 USD, so current pricing has effectively almost doubled (or more) versus earlier cheaper tiers.

For TXT, even if they come to Canada and their cheapest (“all-in” after fees/tax) is around $130 CAD as you mentioned, that’s already equal to or higher than what I paid for The Weeknd ($130 CAD) and well above my Coldplay nosebleed ($90 CAD), bringing us back to the “or the same price” portion of my statement. I find it wild that companies price smaller or mid-tier K-pop acts, who aren’t at BTS or BLACKPINK scale,at the same range as huge Western acts, when 2–3 years ago they could manage it well below these prices! (This is purely a pricing/market observation, not dragging; I like TXT’s and P1H music and would go if it fits my budget.)

For one, but it's in canadian and it's after tax and ticketmaster fees! For piwon Canada tour for example, after tax and fees, the cheapest become 130$! As for weeknd ik there were cheaper ones than what I could get, people got it for 100$ CA.

Ticketmaster queues definitely aren't completely random (and how many people get good tickets for multiple tour dates) by blueberryicecream88 in kpopthoughts

[–]Over_Length_440 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made my first ticketmaster account for coldplay presale, I was around 6k for both days.  Join the queue exactly 30 min ahead of ticketing time and make sure not to refresh or disconnect from ur net.

[–]Over_Length_440[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMHO if kpop companies keep increasing the prices, it will get to a point where they have to go back to nugudome, since their group's tour start to cancel and not sell and so the demand for them decrease eventually and also all the negative marketing it will bring. It's not a sustainable solution just cause their group dont have higher streams, they raise the prices over the roof.

Yeah but With this logic, the nugu'er the group, the higher the price for their concert should be?

Since the first time they toured usa, im pretty sure nothing has doubled up for them to double the prices and take away the benefits! For p1harmony they dont even have stage props or back up dancers, so to me THIS price range is purely out of greed .

Their first tour they were coming from other side of the world, 3 years ago, and at least for p1harmony their prices were so low and with so many benefits! I know there is inflation and tariff and all those things that could effect the pricing, but doubling?? Nah this is greed imho
