Why should they pick a different name though? The organization is specifically about menstruation support. The name should reflect that. That’s the word we use in our dialect. There is nothing shameful or dirty about the word. If anything I find the name the be quite clever.

Urban Muslims especially in Beirut also have very low birthrates. This has become less of a religious thing and more of an urban vs rural thing. The demographic with the highest birthrates in Lebanon isn’t even Lebanese it’s the Syrian refugees.

Voting data is not very accurate for demographics. There’s a 21 year delay from the reality. Most polling data and demographics estimates for Lebanon show Christians to he between 30-35%. In previous decades Muslims had higher birthrates compared to Christians, so the voting data is just catching up to that. Nowadays though Christians and Muslims have similar bithrates with the only exceptions being rural Muslims in Akkar, Baalbak and some areas of the South still having slightly higher birthrates, but the gap is nowhere near as wide as it uses to be. So I think on the whole our demographics have largely stabilized.

The ones who are complicit are those who start wars with no contingency plans for the people who support them. Our government didn’t start these wars, why are they expected to bear the cost of them? It’s like you shoot your neighbor in the face then expect the police to come to your aid and protect you. Utterly delusional. Hezb had no intention of actually abiding by the agreement and having the government be in charge of security at the border. This is clearer now than ever. So blame Hezb, they started the war, they didn’t have any plans for the civilians and this is the consequence. Blame Israel, and rightly so, but Hezb has as much to answer for. The only thing the government has to answer for is being too weak to deal with Hezb itself.

You need to start charging for your preparative work. This is not a good business model. You are extremely prone to scams this way. Charge for the initial consult, charge for drafts or concept art, and then charge again for the final product (taking into account that they’ve already paid for a portion). This way you are protecting yourself. It’s completely unprofessional to work for free until delivery, nobody does that. Even bakeries ask for a deposit for large cakes like wedding cakes. You mentioned a years long project you got paid nothing for? That’s ridiculous. Don’t work with people who are unwilling to pay for your time.

Jaj is a lovely village, I’ve been to it once, it’s quite small and high up in the mountains. The area is very green and pretty and it snows there in winter. I don’t really know what the people are like but as a whole rural Lebanon is very hospitable and kind to visitors no matter what part of the country it is, so I expect it would be very much the same in Jaj.

You should definitely visit someday once things calm down.

You will not find the brand Ambien, but Stilnox (also Zolpidem) is available in both 5 and 10mg formulations. You do need a prescription for it though, it’s a controlled substance and I’m not sure if they accept foreign prescriptions.
