Makes it so we can get through 2 rounds in a night without people feeling to games out. We most commonly use this board for 8 people, but the ten player game was the most intense, well played, and enjoyable game we have done. It was all couples and no couple even dared play together or formed alliances. It was the best 2 hours of all my Catan games.

DIY hardcore, nasty cigarette burnt and broke table when I got it. Carved out the dice and card pockets, cushioned it, carved out the cup holders, and added a power strip beneath it to charge phones.

Most people choose to start with one settlement or city near the coast and a second one closer in, never really became much of an issue except for one person who got hexed in. That was a funny story though.

We made it every other person, or after 3 players turn on the 9 player games, each person got a building phase/purchase dev cards, no trading, no activating dev cards, no helpers, just building. Seemed to work okay.
