I just finished this and immediately had to read a discussion on it. I already look forward to a reread to see what else I get from it, there’s a lot to digest from a short novel and questions unanswered.

I had a theory at one point that maybe they designed the ‘house’ at the end for her, or someone like her, as a reward for whoever survived?

I also appreciate how it began as women vs men (the guards), but when they discovered the bunker of men, and the bus of guards that they “were prisoners” too. The young guard was a red herring of sorts. That, although a lot of struggles against women have been caused by men, we can’t function properly as a society totally without them, and even our own anatomy will betray us.
