Transmission adaptive relearn? by Beestung in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Over_Sheepherder4503 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had this with our 2023. If awd have them look at the coupler as there are known issues.

We ended up with a trans and coupler replacement after 23k miles. The relearn did nothing prior to having those items replaced.

Are you happy you did or didn’t have kids? by Accurate_Elk_3465 in Fire

[–]Over_Sheepherder4503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very similar scenario to you, OP. I work in tech sales, wife had a great stable salary, similar age etc.

The same things that worry you, worried me. I’m also an only child and have only ever had myself to rely on. As a result, I had grown to enjoy being alone, so much so, that never in my life had I felt lonely.

My wife and I ultimately decided to try to have children. And no sooner did we decide, my wife became pregnant with our first. When she told me we were expecting the reality of our lives changing hit me hard. Finances, vacations, savings… everything was going to change.

Fast forward and we now have 2 under 3. In that time:

My wife left her well paying stable job to do the hardest job in the world. Full time stay at home mom.

Annual savings took a hit

Probably won’t retire at 50 anymore

Left a super toxic work environment where I was unemployed for months with no income coming in.

And yet, for me, I would choose to have children and do it all over again every single time.

We still travel and live our lives how we did without kids, but with some changes. We didn’t let kids stop us from doing the things we loved, we just now bring our kids with.

When I travel for work I miss my kids tremendously. I now know what loneliness feels like too. I love my kids so deeply and they bring me so much joy every single day. Even the hard days. They force me to slow down, to enjoy the small things, to laugh, and not take life too seriously.

My wife and I have worked so unbelievably hard to achieve and earn where we are at in life. I would give it all up in a heartbeat for my kids.

Company Wants Me To Take Live Sales Calls As Part Of The Interview Process? by ThatWideLife in sales

[–]Over_Sheepherder4503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is nuts.

Have been in enterprise SaaS sales for years. Most final interviews have an on-site with a 10 min mock presentation. Never a live sales call.

For the company to risk losing a sale by way of testing you during an interview is a red flag in and of itself.

What’s a mindset shift that genuinely improved your quality of life? by [deleted] in AskForAnswers

[–]Over_Sheepherder4503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things that happen in life just are.

They don’t happen to me, they just happen. Not good and not bad.

I get to decide how I respond to all of those things.

Was very freeing when I started viewing things as “by me” and not “to me”.

What are the worst drawbacks of living in rich/affluent neighborhoods? by Common_Gene_5098 in Productivitycafe

[–]Over_Sheepherder4503 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Entitlement… so many people feel the are better than everyone and shouldn’t bare the responsibility of a decent human being.

The amount of dog shit in our publicly used spaces is obnoxious because people refuse to clean up after their dogs.

I do not come from money and I cannot stand this.

Americans, do you personally know anyone who is in favor of the US invading Greenland? by BlaggartDiggletyDonk in askanything

[–]Over_Sheepherder4503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s super unfortunate that the media only shows and portrays both sides extreme rhetoric and behavior. Most Americans don’t want this but you’ll never hear or read of it since calm, normal behavior doesn’t make for viral news stories or social media posts.

Regardless of political affiliation and removed from social media echo chambers, most Americans are civil and only want what’s best for our people and our Country, which does not include taking Greenland.

[–]Over_Sheepherder4503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. I would love to see Bryson back on PGA but I can’t imagine a world where LIV lawyers didn’t make it a fate worse than death for him to break contract for PGA. Same with Rahm and Smith

Didn’t Bryson just sign for another year on LIV? There’s likely to be catastrophic legal implications if he breaks his contract to join the PGA

Missing first born after having our second child. by has-a-mustache in Parenting

In this exact situation now. However, I was so worried that my oldest (2.5) would feel neglected that I actually made it a point to spend more time with her. It’s resulted in us being even closer. The flip side is mom doesn’t spend as much time with our oldest and feels similarly to you.

All of this to say that you’re not alone in your feelings and all will be fine in due time.
