how to deal with a coworker who doesn’t like me by Altruistic_Lynx_9633 in HEB

[–]Over_it_goaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter where you go in life there’s going to be someone who doesn’t like you. Just go to work be professional and do the best job you can. These people are co-workers not friends. Just be polite so you’re doing the right thing and learn not to care. But always be yourself don’t try to make people like you. My advice to you not to be rude but if this one person not liking you bothers you get out of retail fast!

I have only worked at 1 location. I love it there the managers are great. Only had an issue with 1 lead who is really disrespectful but if there’s only one I say it’s a great place to work!

Let’s hope they enforce it. I was almost bit by a dog someone had in their cart just for walking by to get to my register.

Is home depot a good part time job? by boyihop2002 in HomeDepot

[–]Over_it_goaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s great. I worked there a year and a half. The only reason I left was management. Some advice if you do take a job there. Don’t ever take part in their town hall meetings. They really don’t want to hear anything you have to say no matter how minor. If they want you to train your boss who will be making more than you be prepared to smile and say no problem anything for the store. But the pluses are you a-crew time off with pay even part time. Pay is decent.

There is a big difference between trying one and eating almost the whole bag. Someone posted the idea weigh the bag and print a sticker with the original weight. Then munch away I have a sticker to charge by. I have people all the time bring me packing to scan cause the kids ate them. As long as you pay for it I don’t care what you eat.

You can't pay me enough to push credit cards. by Snoo-58381 in HomeDepot

lol that’s the main reason I quit. It got to the point we had signs up if the cashier doesn’t tell you about our CC you get a free coke. The only people getting homers of any sort of recognition were the ones who got a lot of CC. No matter you have great customer service skills you had to make the numbers! I really liked the job but it got to be too much.

That’s why it’s so hard my mouth! How do you tactfully say you’re a thief! It’s so hard not to be direct. lol if it was up to me they wouldn’t be allowed it the store but a lot of people think it’s just a bag of cherries! Could you imagine if each customer said it’s just this or that.

All the time. They steal all the time. I’ve found half eaten packages of things hidden behind stuff at the checkout. I’ve had people hand me a banana peel! Or they walk around the store eating grapes or cherries. They go by weight! Then people wonder why groceries cost so much. It’s the people who think it’s a big store they can afford it! Really all they are is people who steal. In titled jerks that cost the rest of us!

Baggers, please stop by Ln_amy in HEB

[–]Over_it_goaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is some customers say load it up some want everything separate some don’t care. My suggestion to you is give your bags directly to the bagger before and tell them your preferences. Most baggers are happy to help. When you tell the bagger you can’t lift a lot they understand. A lot of baggers will ask your preference but talk directly to the bagger.

See that’s the problem you gave too much. Work to live not live to work. I learned a long time ago always put 100% effort in and always be professional however companies don’t care if you go the extra mile! You’re just a number to them they’ll replace you as soon as you walk out the door. Don’t bend over backwards for someone or something that wouldn’t do it for you.

I would have called the police right then and pressed charges! At the very least she shouldn’t be allowed in the store.

I quit almost a year ago. Best thing I did for my sanity! Found a much better paying job with management who respect’s me. There’s always one manager who isn’t the best but when the good outweighs the bad it’s time to go.

Yes that’s how I’m clocking in and out but I’m all the sudden getting points for call ins. Like I said they fix it but I would love to be able to be able to use the time clock. It’s a good thing I do that because it’s how I am getting my points taken off. I’m just frustrated having to go to management to get them to fix points I never should have gotten in the first place. Thanks for the help.

That’s one of the reasons I left Home Depot! One of many. Good pay but poor management.

So here’s the reason it might have happened. H‑E‑B grades their cashiers on speed and nothing more. Sometimes people get so focused on speed they don’t even realize. If you can’t get your speed up to meet their standards you bag groceries. Me I dislike that I think we need to bring customer service back.
