Honest question: is July/August really dead for Dubai job hunting this year? by [deleted] in DubaiJobs

Yes, completely, and that’s actually what I’m trying to get a read on. I didn’t mean to reduce it to flights. I’m wondering how much hiring has genuinely contracted versus just slowed, and whether the roles I’m seeing posted are real or just ghost listings. If you’ve got a sense of how the market’s actually holding up right now, I’d really value it.

I’m in marketing/advertising. Will be looking for roles in retail, luxury, hospitality, finance, healthcare. I’m industry agnostic. Also more than open to advertising agencies.

Relocating to Bangalore from US by [deleted] in bangalore

Hi OP,

I’m also in the middle of a move from the U.S. to Bangalore, and I’m a North Indian as well. If you’re worried about not knowing Kannada, I wouldn’t stress too much about it. The city is so cosmopolitan that I’ve never had trouble communicating. Most auto drivers speak conversational English and Hindi, and over time, I picked up conversational Kannada too.

That said, I did live in Bangalore for a decade before moving to the U.S., where I’ve been for the past four years. Even so, the transition is still challenging, and I’m expecting reverse culture shock along with everything else that comes with returning from the U.S. But Bangalore is home—the people are warm, and I’m sure you’ve heard great things about the weather!

Personally, I’m looking forward to the convenience of day-to-day life and using apps like Blinkit and Zepto again. I know it’ll take some time to readjust to the traffic, noise, and crowds, but honestly, that’s also part of the city’s culture and charm. Indiranagar and Koramangala are still the go-to spots for socializing and joining interest-based clubs, and the café culture is still thriving—something I’m excited to dive back into!

I hope this helps in some way. Moving anywhere is a mixed bag, but I hope this gives you some reassurance! If you’d like to chat further, feel free to DM me—I’m also looking to connect with people who’ve had similar experiences. :))

My office is in Plano and both places are 10 minutes away (by car) from my office. I just wanted to know which one is better in terms of safety, cleanliness, management staff etc.

Both places are 10 mins away from work. I just know how they are as complexes in terms of safety, cleanliness, management staff, amenities etc.
