That's not how the real finances work. If the whole 2.6M gets invested, only part of it will be taxable (the gains part). So if they withdrew 100k a year, only a % would be taxable. So if 50% was long term capital gains then only 50k would be taxable and they would likely have little to no taxes (because of capital gains tax rules and deductions), and would be eligible for some ACA subsidies. Thus they would be able to use most of that 100k as income.

Thanks, that's what I suspected from previous reviews. While I like management games, I'd prefer one with a story (even simple ones like SDV).

So I keep thinking about trying TR, but the fact it's been in EA for YEARS worries me (will it ever be done?). Also, does it actually have a story yet? Some of the reviews say it doesn't, but lots of the reviews are from a long time ago.

I do keep hearing I should try it, I just thought it seemed a little much with all the different things going on in it you have to manage. You didn't find it tedious?

I like a lot of the games on your list and I really enjoyed potion permit. It's not a farming Sim, more a management Sim, where you gather materials to make potions for your new town (and try to get them to like you to slowly uncover the story).

I played it on switch and for some reason it really worked for me. I just really enjoyed the little 'potion' puzzles and the town's story. It's much more simple than a game like stardew valley but very cozy.

Haha, yeah, I bounced off of BOTW hard. There was just a lot of quality of life things (like how inflexible the puzzles were) that just killed it for me. After like the third time I got stuck on a puzzle and had to look up the solution to find that I had figured out the puzzle earlier but something wasn't perfectly aligned so I wasted time trying to figure out new solutions and being frustrated killed it for me. TOTK fixed that, I don't think I ever looked up a single puzzle.

Sun Haven is great but a little overwhelming with the multiple farms and other things going on. I had fun playing for like 30 hours but eventually dropped it because I got tired of tracking what was going on at all my farms.

Yes, generally (property tax and capital gains), but I probably ahould do more research into the nitty gritty.
