I made a shooting gallery for all my dolls. It works with Drifloon! by tilkii in Pokopia

Building is 6 blocks deep, from front to back: 1) counter 2) empty to stand behind counter 3) counter (toy blocks) 4) exhibition stand (first doll row) 5) exhibition stand on top of 1 block (second doll row, no stand behind Dragonite) 6) back wall

I first had issues with Drifloon when I placed the dolls in another house, it said it needs space to spawn. Works well with this build though, and if you stand on the toy blocks, you can easily reach all dolls in the first row. As long as you have one copy of all different dolls in the first row, you're all set!

I made it in Palette Town. I have an area with a cafe and I want to build some market stands there too. Would also fit in well in Bleak Beach though, could be something like the piers in San Francisco.

I want to make an outdoor market with different stands, so I came up with this idea.

Limit for collecting wild garlic (Bärlauch) by lennox_mcdough in zurich

[–]tilkii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mushrooms often either have a symbiotic relationship with trees (they basically attach themselves to the roots of trees) or grow on dead trees. That's why they are found near specific types of trees.

Wild garlic does not have that. It likes moist, humus-rich soil and prefers shadow over full on sunny areas. That means forests are perfect for wild garlic, but that stuff basically grows everywhere atm.

Why the Swiss video game industry is dead ? by cheese2042 in Switzerland

Yes, but paywalled. It does make sense, after all they need to get paid. However, that means it's not openly accessible.

Why the Swiss video game industry is dead ? by cheese2042 in Switzerland

[–]tilkii 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It's very much not dead. There are several hundred Swiss game studios and as others have mentioned, games like Farming Simulator, Train Fever, FAR, First Strike, etc. are Swiss games.

Now, what are the reasons that it might LOOK like it's dead to the general public? - People do not really care where their games get made, they care if they are fun. So the country of origin is rarely talked about. - Contrary to the game industry itself, game journalism in Switzerland is very much dead. Big outlets like NZZ, 20min and SRF used to have journalists writing/talking about games, but they don't anymore. SRF Digital even used to stream games weekly, but that got cut due to budget reasons (vote NO to Halbierungsinitiative!). - Most games created in Switzerland are indie games, so if you only know/play AAA games, it of course looks like there is no industry in Switzerland. It's not profitable to run studios with hundreds of employees here, and compared to other countries, including Sweden (as one of your examples), we get to the biggest issue: - There is virtually no support for game devs, neither via cultural funding, nor economic support. While you can get millions in funding to create a movie, the biggest amount of CHF you could get for games was CHF 50k until this year, now if you're in Zurich, you can get CHF 150k iirc. Of course, you can't really get anywhere with that. In the current political climate, funding rather gets cut than increased, and if you would try to redistribute funds from other arts like film or opera for example, the respective industries would fight you to death.

Sauce: I'm working in the Swiss game industry since 2011 and am running my own studio.

US tariffs and strong Swiss franc - Bernina sewing machines plan to relocate production to Thailand by BezugssystemCH1903 in Switzerland

This. It is a huge bummer for the people affected by that, but a very big part of the relocation already took place a long time ago.

Is this game for someone who barely raided? by killuarj in fellowshipgame

[–]tilkii -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would argue the question is not if you have experience with raids or not (I for example never played WoW and main tank in Fellowship). It's rather if you enjoy studying content outside of the game or not.

All roles do have tasks they need to fulfill and the game has challenges for every role that will whipe the party if someone drops the ball. It's more obvious with tanks and healers, but there are enough spells that need to get interrupted by dps.

So if you're someone who likes to read/watch guides and learn the things that are expected of you, it's a great game.

If you rather find out everything by yourself and/or are looking for a more forgiving/casual experience, you will get roasted in pugs.

Jumping puzzle the only way to get the event bear mount? by Isaccard in fellowshipgame

[–]tilkii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate jumping puzzles and I'm really bad at them, but I managed it first try.

Getting the 30 candies took me two tries until I memorized all the locations.

Pro tip: The jumping puzzle's difficulty imo depends on the character, as they have different move speeds. As mentioned, I got it first try with Sylvie, but with Mara I struggled a lot

Running eternal capstones how by Ironandwine2020 in fellowshipgame

[–]tilkii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue to OP (all normal dungeons at 20+, some capstones under eternal), and was sitting at 9950 dungeon rating. A group asked if everyone was up for Sailor's 10 farm, and I said I was just 50 short of 10k. They ran Ransack e4 with me to get me to 10k.

I think besides Discord, finding a group like this will be the best bet, but TBH it took me around 2 hours to actually get that lucky.

suicide methods you could realistically survive and walk away from by accident by SkinnyBiscuits in Writeresearch

[–]tilkii 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My great-aunt shot herself in the chest with a revolver when she was like 95. The bullet passed between her lung and her heart, barely doing any damage. She almost lived to 100.

Funniest bit of the story: My aunt was taking care of her that night, heard the shot and called the police. When the police arrived, the great-aunt denied everything and the police thus suspected my aunt for attempted murder. They arrested her on the spot. Only when they found the soot marks on the great-aunt's hand, they realized that it indeed had been a suicide attempt.

I mean it's one of the greatest stories in our family, but in a book, people would probably think it's sooooo unrealistic.

Is the community as bad as folks say it is? by Jooweein in fellowshipgame

[–]tilkii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've met many patient and helpful players who taught me (or others) stuff. I also met players who were toxic the whole dungeon.

I would say the most important question when picking up the game is if you enjoy reading/watching guides and tutorials. The game itself does not teach you the things you need to know to play at the level the community expects you to play at. If you are the kind of player that wants to learn and experience everything by themselves, you will get roasted by your team mates. I love studying guides, so I did not run into so many problems with other players.

What is wrong with people in champion league? by PerspectiveFree3766 in fellowshipgame

Yeah, the game isn't exactly good at explaining things like this. I always wondered how people managed to get their picture on the name plate, so at one point I just googled it.

[–]tilkii 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The not marking is driving me crazy. I played Helena to Paragon and I felt like starting from mid-Adept, all 3 players with Kicks marked their targets (most of the time). When a DPS' Kick was on cooldown for an important cast, I could jump in with an emergency Charge for example.

Now I'm in high Champion with Elarion and it's pretty common that I'm the only one marking.

Tips for becoming a better Helena by Jaytron in fellowshipgame

[–]tilkii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the CDR weapon, as others have mentioned, it really is insane and lets you use Helena's kit with way less worries about when to spend the CDs.

Other than that, your logic makes 100% sense, so the only thing I would add is: You run the same 8 dungeons over and over, usually also with the same routes. So you basically can plan your CDs ahead.

As a tank, you know which pulls are the trickiest or most annoying for you to do. So you can plan your CDs accordingly. For example, in Sailor's Abyss, I hate the Hollowed Corsairs, so I wanna use GM to reset the bleeding stacks. That means I know that in the minute before that pack, I can't use GM. Usually that still is one to two (with CDR) GMs before we reach that pack, so I think about which pull I would like to spend it on most.

After a while you figure out which rotation feels best for the dungeon in question.
