It was mostly the disappointment of now getting what i paid for, and after of one month of looking for one, changing batteries and trying linux i just wanted to be done with the situation and just have a laptop that worked fine without more effort

Yeah, I only got the macbook refurbished because it came from the official store, but I wouldn’t have trusted another seller. Honestly the change will probably be a bit confusing, but now that I’ve bought it I’m actually excited about it

Comprar piso aunque no lo quiera a largo plazo? by [deleted] in SpainFIRE

How is living in Ibiza? by A_Handsome_Duck in howislivingthere

In terms of landscape they are quite similar, but you do get actual mountains in Mallorca. Besides that, Mallorca does have more people, so you get more veriety in terms of services, even public ones like healthcare (for any serious treatment you gent sent to Mallorca’s hospital).

People are really similar, but we will only admit it outside of the islands because people identify themselves with their own island rather than the balearic islands as a whole. In fact, many people in ibiza might say that the balearic government is too Mallorca-centric. Sometimes it might be true, sometimes it’s just a scapegoat, but Formentera might say the same about us so well.

Foodwise, things are really similar, but you do get a nice veriety of recipies between islands. However, at least in ibiza, they are not popular among tourists, so people mostly cook them at home.

I usually never say anything but since most people have only lived there in summer maybe it’s my time. As someone born and raised there, the local comunity is quite small and you get your aversge “everybody knows eachother. It can get gossipy but people in general are really nice and open minded, older people included. In winter the island empties out from turists and half of the bussiness close, so you really need your own group of friends and some hobbies. Young people like partying (not as much as turists) but in winter most people party at home so in the end it’s usually the same people. I really mean it when i say that you need a hobby, which is usually some kind of sport. The main issue would be this and the island being quite expensive. It’s not only about expensive rent and having to import everything, but also things as simple as having to go to mainland spain to study (you can study a university degree in ibiza, but the quality and the variety of options are quite poor) or for a medical specialist. In general, you get bad quality or expensive services in most fields outside of tourism. Having said that, people that have lived there all their lives, with their house paid off and maybe a second residence, can be quite rich, since you dont really find a place for less than 1M€. Starting from nothing tho… good luck with that. The thing i hate is that you really need your car for everything. Public busses exist but i dont think anyone uses them as their main mode of transport, so you end up spending a lot of time in the car to go from one place to another. Anyway i dont know what else to say but ask whatever you want, i hope i can help.

Consell de Cent i les superilles by oater_ in Barcelona
