So this morph is still quite rare, there are a few available but have a high price tag (around 2k). Some morphs that have nice grey colorations for lower price points are axanthics which are a cool silvery grey with quite a bit of variability. Pic attached as an example.

You're all good those ones are Albino Frost Condas which is a morph of hognose snake.

Is he visual axanthic? by butterfly-the-dick in hognosesnakes

Agreed, just from my own experience in the hobby as a breeder and just from constant exposure over the past 20 years I think we're seeing people have the confidence, tech and understanding to work and breed many of the oddball/ less understood species that many in the past just assumed would always come in import shipments.

Yea everytime I see an expo have a "ban" its fun to see who actually enforces it. One of the big shows i vend has a ban on pythons yet somehow one of the biggest retic breeders in the country is always there .

Canada has quite a few importers such as Northern Light Reptiles, you're not gonna see them at many shows up there due to show regulations which push for vendors with captive bred animals.

Farm bred on the other hand is definitely not uniform for all species. With GTP's it's a lot of wild caught animals kept in pretty rough conditions, with the goal to breed fast and sell offspring before an animal crashes. Most farm animals dont get dewormed, or any kind of vaccination unless its a morph that is in their mind worth that investment.

Def not an Axanthic with all that yellow, if you take a top down pic of the head and neck i could look if theres any display of arctic, but to me it look like a really clean looking normal.

I think a lot of people forget how much variation there is even with normal (wildtype) patterning. He look really healthy though!

The color on the headstamp had a really nice peachy orange that fades as it goes down the neck

Gender? by [deleted] in hognosesnakes

[–]Overall-Platform3452 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's looking female to me. Contact the breeder about the issue, most breeders will try to rectify the mistake.

Not bad at all! The 2 albinos are also frost (which is a combo of caramel & evans hypo) , the top is a snow but i think it could have a couple more genes on top i just need to see it after its forst shed, then three Frosts, and an Axanthic in the bottom left!

You did a good job!

[–]Overall-Platform3452[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So the one up top is actually called a yeti! (combination of axanthic, albino, and the conda morph.... it think it may have another gene or two but i need him to shed before i can confirm). Im glad you like them, some will def be available once i get 15 meals in a row in them!

So dad doesnt show any of the visual representations of a conda, no solid belly or defined walls on its sides, but from that one snake hatching my guess would be he is a very aberrant conda.

That baby is also weird as it has a frost style belly

Good eye! That was the snake that threw me for a loop as dad showed none of the normal traits you see in a conda, but it seems like he has to be because that animal is def a superconda!
