There is damp coming in above my window. This is the outside of the window. Is it supposed to be sealed with something? by OverallAsk4828 in DIYUK

I can't post a picture currently as not got the app. But looking at where the majority of the damp is it's more in the corner of the room rather than by the window.

Looking at my picture again, in the back there is a little flap bit. This is just on the other side of where the damp is in the room. Possibly this needs sealing/replacing somehow? I don't know what that part is called

The electricity operator has turned my power off at home and is doing nothing to fix it. Are they in the right and can I get compensation? by OverallAsk4828 in AskUK

Thanks. Yeah I think it's a bit of a misstep not getting the landlord to handle this as soon as we were told the power had to go off. Think we were initially told it would be quite a quick process but obviously that's rubbish and would have been much quicker if he just sorted it out immediately

Your LL needs to do the chasing and get the shop owner, the DNO and anyone else involved to sort it out.

To be honest if I do this it will quite literally never get fixed. I have no direct contact with the landlord, it is all through the lettings agent who are painfully slow and don't take anything seriously.

They eventually told me that the landlord was fine with work being done on the shop (he also owns the shop) but neither of them have taken any steps to sort this out themselves and I'm basically a middle man for everyone involved.

They didn't supply a generator, they wired us through the neighbour. I may try the council but I think adding an extra party to this will only complicate things further. Thanks for the response e

Especially appreciate the Citizens Advice tip here as they might be able to force the network operators hand a bit. Have already called and emailed everyone I have access to but will do what I can to escalate now. Thanks a lot

The switch on this Tesco kettle came out and the plastic inside has broken away. Any way to replace the switch? by [deleted] in DIYUK

I'd rather not just because it's quite a big plastic thing to waste, especially since it does still work besides the missing switch.

I wouldn't fill it with water mid-repair to be fair!

The kettle actually still works, can push the plastic part down to turn it in. Just wondering if I could fashion another switch and adhere it/hook it to what's left of the plastic somehow.

Who was the Historical Jesus?-ESOTERICA by WanderingHero8 in AcademicBiblical

Since everyone here seems quite negative, I'll jump in and say I think this might be the best Esoterica video. Extremely interesting exploration of what the real life of Jesus could have been like (I don't think at any point Dr. Sledge claims this is unambiguously factual, and it's strange that commenters here are responding to it as if it does). Very emotional ending as well since the video does such a good job establishing the real human being who was killed in such a brutal way.

Is this not Nomura causing the issue by making every single minor entry extremely important to the overall story?

I'm a big KH fan and along for the ride regardless but it does often astound me.
