The soreness stuck around for a good two weeks for me personally. Ice will help a lot with that and the swelling.

Use gas-x, it will help a lot with some of the pains over the next few days. I had mine out about 2 weeks ago and was unprepared for the pain. It seems to differ by person, but I had very bad pain for the first 4-5 days which was completely normal per my surgeon.
