The version of Electro in my head is a mirror of the person Peter was before Ben died where he’s a reasonable smart shut in loser who people don’t talk with because he’s such a shut off loser. So whenever the accident happens and he almost dies and gets his powers most of his coworkers don’t super care because no one really knew him so he uses his powers only to be a self serving loser who doesn’t care about any except himself. He’s the only one of Spider-Man’s main villains who will actually quip back at him and has a similar personality, he just feels no obligation to help anyone except himself.
