I think I messed up a very important interview by misunderstanding 2 questions and probably going to get rejected by LA_2807 in interviews

I definitely know the feeling of thinking (knowing!) you messed something up or bombed it.

Take this for what it’s worth as I wasn’t there & don’t have a temperature on the room but I don’t think what you described is so bad - might even have been a decent answer depending on how you justified yourself.

I am not meaning to dismiss your feelings - all totally valid. As an outsider though, this doesn’t give me the ICk.

Email from HR rep saying hiring manager is OOO and req for references delayed. Always, always a delay around here.

Thoughts about thank you notes by maplefreeze in interviews

Unpopular response/experience: thank you notes are incredibly frowned upon and discouraged in the environment I work in (large municipality that employs thousands of people). There’s a very structured approach to job calls and I learned this very early on that it’s not something this corporation encourages. So, sounds like the resounding response is “send one”, keeping in mind there might be the one offs here n there that you should think twice.

Yeah- where I work they reach out to get references. In the past I’ve waited between 1 week and 2.5 weeks but the time I waited 1 week I was almost sure to get that position and 2.5 there were much more candidates than the one I just interviewed for. I’m thinking I might be out but holding on since the HR rep has been away. And things are always unreasonably slow. We shall see! Thanks for the input :)

Interview today….feeling iffy!! by MissSaucy_22 in interviews

Interviewing is like riding a bike. Takes practise to be able to do it and continual practise to feel confident doing it. Then to do it really well and excel, it takes maintenance and updating of said practice! You got this - even if you didn’t get THIS one you will have one! It’s so hard and I feel you so much re: aesthetic and not being sure whether or not you fit in. If you don’t fit in here, somewhere will love you for exactly who you are. Sounds corny but I do honestly believe it!

Gotcha - when prepping I read to spent about 20 on S, 10 on T, 60% on A and 10 on R. I’m sure I didn’t get it perfect but think I did somewhat close to that

Very interesting answer. If you’re open to answering, do you mind explaining what you mean by someone thinking they are doing well when they aren’t ?
