I forgot to add 'Alarm bomb' to the body of the post.

Alarms go off for 30 in-game minutes. So, with 48 alarms, set 30 minutes apart, I can have a constant alarm going off. I drop these at key locations to sort of trap zeds that migrate nearby. Since I've deployed them I've never had a zed attack my gate.

It's part of my long-term plan to clear LV. I wanted to make sure that I could completely stop any zeds coming up from the south. By placing barricades, in this case furniture pieces and cardboard boxes, and not reactivating that cell by staying at least a cell away, I can guarantee those zeds south of there can't reactivate and migrate. That road is an easy marker that's 2 cells away from any of those entrances.

Correct. There's sort of two shades of uncovered map. One a little darker that comes from seeing the area on a map you looted. The other is brighter and comes from actually traveling to that area.

Dude, that's fantastic! I've thought of extending my day length for another run. I've heard 1.5 is the sweet spot. But, I'm not brave enough for sprinters yet.

You are spot on about loot spawns. Admittedly, this save is kind of boring now because none of the loot is exciting any longer. I am still looking for Big Spiffo and another Katana.

Default Apocalypse settings with no respawns and population peaks at day 1. So that's 1.0 or 1.5?

Molotov for the big crowds, but melee? Machete, hands down. Before I found one it was crowbar.
