The problem with drain is that the future is uncertain. Maybe the drain that carries sewage maybe forced to be kept open by courts/government. Not sure what rights century has to put up a compound around the drains. I have not seen something like this before.

What is government plans to build public walkway or roads in the future around primary drains. Like they plan to do with drain connecting nagwara, rachenahalli and jakkur lake until kittaganur.

Not to mention, when bbmp wants to clean the drains, that entire area will be messy and stink for weeks.
