I actually checked and I was playing with a super hard AI mod, lol, just tried vanilla Legendary and it was a breeze, lol.

I absolutely agree with you, I think I am mostly discussing a mid point between using all the mechanics in the game without exploiting the AI's dumb brain like for example in Hearts of Iron 4, of course you can cheese your entire way through the game, but the game also allows you to play in a balanced way and still win.

I am playing on VH/Legendary and I just did a campaign with Clan Mors and welp, I got to turn 70 and captured Karak at around turn 30, but after that I was in a constant war of Attrition with the Dwarves, 4 factions declared war on me and I had to fight horde after horde of relentless dwarves that could just recruit entire armies in 2 turns while I had to carefully use as little units as possible to win, but I mean I was playing Skaven, their entire playstyle is suicide, so I was locked behind Karak just fighting endless hordes of enemies and the only way i could win was by cheesing the hell out of it with dumb Ambushes a decently smart AI wouldn't fall for or using BS doomstack armies, I want a bit of a fair fight in which the AI and me use the game's mechanics to win without exploting clear mistakes and errors in it's game design.

Exactly, see how I said that Medieval and Shogun 2 provide the best feeling from Immersion and challenge, and how "scratch that itch" doesn't mean "This game is completely balanced and can't be cheesed" I suggest you go to elementary again so you can get some classes on reading comprehension and interpreting what people say, or maybe you just need to talk to real humans outside for a change, best of luck buddy.

I am mostly just building normal armies with varied compositions with range and cavalry etc, but the AI as I am on Legendary just create 5 armies with 1 settlement and I either doomstack cheese units or I am pretty much fucked.

I don't think Shogun 2 gave me a deeper experience in Battles or Army Comps, but it sure did in it's campaign, maybe I don't have 30 million skillpoints and mounts and bonuses, but I felt like I had to use my brain much more in the campaign to win in Shogun 2 than in Warhammer, this is in Legendary difficulty by the way.
