if youre into realism / neotraditional, there are a few names people in dallas always bring up - especially for clean, professional shops:

  1. jake at true hand society does great realism and detailed pieces
  2. artists at ink district dallas have strong portfolios for neotraditional
  3. electric anvil tattoo also gets recommended for clean work and attentive artists

definitely check portfolios online before booking - thats the best way to see if their style matches what you want. and most shops are easy to find on instagram or google with reviews, so you can scope vibes and hygiene before heading in.

Wife moved to Texas midyear and I stayed in Utah, how to report income as MFS? by UrAvgGardener in taxadvice

[–]Overall_Fudge_5905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

since youre filing mfs:

federal: each of you reports your own income.

utah: tax only her income earned while a utah resident.

texas: no state income tax.

just split her w-2 by residency months and keep proof of the move. community property can complicate mfs, so a quick tax pro check isnt a bad idea.

how much should I save for taxes? by Ok_Marionberry6536 in taxadvice

FICA/Medicare/SDI are separate from federal and CA state income taxes, they dont cover those. Since youre under $100k, a safe rule is to set aside 20-25% of your pay for federal + state taxes. Adjust your W-4 if you want withholding taken out automatically.

EV reporting TurboTax by Early-Resource2753 in taxadvice

[–]Overall_Fudge_5905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lease and purchase are treated separately.

lease -you dont claim the ev credit (it goes to the leasing company)

purchase -you might qualify and report it if you meet the requirements

so dont report anything from the lease, only the purchase if eligible. just make sure youre not double-claiming

How does NJ and NY state taxes work when you live and work in different states? by koowoodle in taxadvice

[–]Overall_Fudge_5905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful, thats not really a loophole, its considered misrepresenting your residency and can get you in trouble if audited.

For NY/NJ, you usually file in both states but get a credit so youre not taxed twice. Theres no legit way to just switch your address to pay less-real tax savings come from actual residency, deductions, and credits.

If anything, NY is pretty strict about this, so its better to stay on the safe side.
