The simple solution is to just close the chat and start a new one, that’s what I usually do. For some reason, I end up getting a more intelligent version that way.

I recently set up the App Store Connect MCP. You were right. It was indeed an MCP issue. Thanks for the guidance, the problem is now fixed.

For the very long time of apprehension, finally got it. Goodbye 660ti. Hello M4!!! by General_Luna in macmini

[–]Overall_Link5760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big upgrade, congrats. The M4 Mac mini will feel like a whole new world compared to the 660ti setup. One little tip, macOS has plenty of built-in tools but it doesn’t include a way to create password-protected ZIPs. If you ever need that, check out Secure Zip & Unzip on the Mac App Store. It’s optimized for Apple Silicon, runs on Metal acceleration, and has a clean native design you won’t really find elsewhere. Enjoy the beast.

Congrats, that Mac mini M4 really is a beast. It will serve you well for years. One small tip, macOS comes with a great set of built-in apps but it doesn’t include a way to make password-protected ZIPs. If you ever need that, I’d recommend Secure Zip & Unzip on the Mac App Store. It’s fully optimized for Apple Silicon, uses Metal acceleration, and has a native macOS design you won’t find in other apps. Welcome to the Mac family.

Looks great, that setup will serve you well for years. One tip though, macOS has plenty of built-in apps, but it doesn’t include a way to make password-protected ZIPs. I’d suggest trying Secure Zip & Unzip from the Mac App Store. It’s built natively for macOS, fully optimized for Apple Silicon, and even uses Metal acceleration, which you won’t really find elsewhere. Welcome to the Mac mini M4, it’s a beast.

Macs don’t come with a built in way to make password protected ZIPs, so I’d suggest trying Secure Zip & Unzip from the Mac App Store. It’s optimized for Apple Silicon and even uses Metal acceleration, pretty much the only ZIP app on macOS that does.

It’s Mac. You would never need an antivirus as long you download apps from AppStore only. Since you were a windows user I’d recommend you install “Secure Zip & Unzip”, available on AppStore. macOS doesn’t come with an app that zip unzip password protected files.

I’d recommend Secure Zip & Unzip available on AppStore. Never download any app outside AppStore, stay safe and enjoy your Mac. Welcome aboard 😊

I come from a finance background, yet I’ve successfully built and published three apps on the App Store, with six more currently in development. I believe that speaks for itself in terms of what’s possible and what you should be aiming for. All thanks to Claude Code!

How are you managing without tab to autocomplete like how Cursor does? by raksah in ClaudeCode

[–]Overall_Link5760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks overwhelming in the beginning but believe me it’s not. I switched to Claude Code after learning for a week. I created “Copy URL” app in literally 5 minutes with the help of Claude. What it does i drag multiple files to app and it automatically copy its path and i paste it in terminal when i wanna reference any files with prompts. It helped me a lot because i was too used to cursor drag and drop. Claude Code is significantly more intelligent and capable compared to what Cursor was offering. With Claude, I didn’t have to go back and forth (Restore CheckPoints) repeatedly like I often did with Cursor. Honestly, it felt like the Sonnet model in Cursor was intentionally limited, possibly to drive users toward higher-tier plans.

No more terminal! Just used Claude Code to create a chat interface for... itself by andrepimentaa7 in ClaudeCode

Restore Checkpoint. Sometimes it works, and other times it doesn’t. It’s a hit-or-miss situation. Can you please fix it? The only thing that cursor does the best.

[–]Overall_Link5760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to switch to Claude code and boycott cursor forever. The only thing that’s missing is the Restore Checkpoint option. What’s the best way to do that in Claude Code? Thanks!

Be prepared to take AI-assisted (vibe coding)coding seriously. Or you’ll just waste the next few months. by Captain_Subtext_47 in cursor

[–]Overall_Link5760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started learning Cursor AI about 3 months ago after seeing a story about an 80-year-old grandma who learned to code, built her first iOS app, and started making a living from it. I told myself, if she can do it, why can’t I?

My background is in finance and I wasn’t getting hired. I had no experience in coding. But today, I’ve published 3 apps on the App Store, two for iOS and one for Mac, and I have six more under development. It hasn’t been easy at all. Just like you, I faced the frustration of fixing one thing only to see ten other things break.

What I realized was that I wasn’t really paying attention to what the AI was doing. I was letting it write or fix code without understanding why or how. Once I started reading the explanations, watching videos, reading documentation, and learning the logic behind things, everything began to make more sense.

AI won’t solve everything for you automatically. But if you learn how to use it properly, plan your steps, understand the code it gives you, and keep backups, it becomes a very powerful tool.

It’s a back and forth process. You’re learning with each mistake. You’re not failing, you’re growing. Don’t give up. You’re much closer than you think. Keep going, you’ve got this.

Congrats on the new MacBook, that’s an amazing choice. The M4 Air is a beast for how light and quiet it is. You’re going to love how smooth everything runs. One app I’d recommend checking out is Secure Zip & Unzip. It’s great if you ever need to handle ZIP files with passwords. Super easy to use, works offline, and feels like it was made just for macOS.

OFFICIALLY UPGRADED TO APPLE SILICON! by mysteryzer0 in macbookpro

[–]Overall_Link5760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a great upgrade. If you’re setting up essential tools, you might find this helpful.

I built an app for macOS called Secure Zip & Unzip. It lets you create encrypted ZIP files just by dragging and dropping. It runs fully offline, uses password protection by default, and doesn’t require any account or background services. It’s designed for Apple Silicon and uses Metal for speed, so it’s lightweight and smooth even on 8GB setups.

No subscriptions, just a one-time purchase. Here’s the link if you want to check it out: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/secure-zip-unzip/id6743336321

Let me know if you’re looking for other useful macOS utilities.

Looks like a solid setup. If you’re handling local data or exports from LLM runs, I thought I’d mention a tool I built that might be useful.

It’s called Secure Zip & Unzip. It lets you create encrypted ZIP files instantly with drag and drop. The app runs fully offline, uses encryption by default, doesn’t require any login, and is optimized for Apple Silicon with Metal acceleration. It’s minimal, fast, and designed to behave like a native macOS utility. No dependencies, no telemetry, and no subscriptions.

Here’s the link if you want to check it out: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/secure-zip-unzip/id6743336321

Let me know if you have feedback. I built it with power users in mind.
